2011 Charger, see Chrysler? This is what happens when you try

This.

And how played out is the stupid Hemi badge?

This. I recall reading earlier this year that Chrysler was going to do away with the Hemi badge anyway because it didn't give the impression of "environmentally friendly." As if getting rid of a badge will suddenly make the V8 more so, but I guess perception is everything.

I guess if you need the extra doors a Mustang isn't an option. However, if you need the extra doors you would probably be better served by a small SUV or crossover.

small SUVs are tiny. even midsize SUVs are pretty small.

Jeep now calls it the MDS V8 and no longer uses the Hemi name or badge.

They may use it on the GC SRT8, though.

Not liking that rear end.

That's the only part I actually like...besides that it is still ugly to me. Still, this is improvement...I really hope Chrysler can continue this trend. The new Durango in R/T trim actually looks decent for an SUV (only in the R/T trim...all other trims have WAY too much chrome).

They could twin turbo it to 600 HP and call it EcoBoost :awe:

That is one of the worst SUVs on the planet. Horrible gas mileage and not very safe either. We won't even get into reliability.

That looks fugly and the slightly older versions (2006+) look marginally better. I still like the General Lee..

They could call it a hybrid* as well.

* Engine utilizes a hybrid mixture of fuel and air.

Am I cut out for marketing or what? I would of made the text smaller if I could.

They're STILL using that POS 5 spd auto? That's the main reason why i will never buy a dodge. I need a 6spd auto

How can you gripe about the safety and reliability of a car that hasn't even been put on the market yet?

2011 Dodge Durango

It's had the same interior treatment as the new Ram and Grand Cherokee which has been getting great reviews. I expect that it will be top notch.

Chrysler got murdered by Mercedes and Cerberus. It looks like the new management is already starting to get things going again.

Yes, but if you trust those rollover ratings, then I have a bridge for sale. Cheap. Barely used. I swear. ()🙂

They have a propensity to rolling over...or at least they used to.

lol still going at it eh???

I think the Charger looks much better. The front is slightly more aggressive but the back always was boring and now looks much better. You have never gotten Chrysler cars for their bang for the buck, people got them cus of how they looked, 300C, Magnum, Charger, but that obviously couldn't save them.

I'm a bit indifferent on the exterior updates of the Charger. The back end I would say is probably the best from purely an exterior design perspective. I'd probably really have to see it in person to really decide.

The Durango on the other hand looks 10000% better than the latest mini-vanesqe monstrosity, and to a lesser extent the original design. I think it looks rather good.

Do the transmissions still blow up at 50k miles?

Actually, each of those did relatively well when they were new. The problems hit when management basically stopped the product cycle. When you're car sales are based on producing whatever look is popular at that specific point in time you run into major problems when the flow of new vehicles gets cut off.

or when all your customers lose their jobs and houses

That didn't help, but when the crash happened Chrysler's product line was absolutely terrible. They were still selling the PT cruiser that hadn't had a serious update in its 10 year run. Mercedes seemed to lose interest in Chrysler after a while and just let them wither and die. Cerberus seemed to think that they could just produce crap and people would buy it. It seems like now the people that are in charge discovered that they have to produce cars people actually like before people will buy them.
