Prep for gas prices to go up fairly quickly:

United Steel Workers to strike.

The USW represents 30,000 employees at refineries in the U.S.

The site I've linked to is based in Grand Rapids, MI. I've been reading him for a while and he's been fairly spot on when it comes to predicting was gas is going to do.

Do those 30,000 people really want the anger of 300,000,000 people directed at them for raising gas?

Yup its all supply and demand and the self proclaimed experts in here know everything. Come on Skoorb, I'm calling you out for not knowing jack shit about gas and oil. Its only fair after your cockiness about it decreasing in 10 days.
Dude, shut up. You were a pussy and didn't take the bet.

Gas is at 1.84 now. So much for all the price dropping.

Let me explain to you how a man works. A man either takes a bet, or doesn't. A man wins or loses like a man.

A pussy doesn't take a bet, then a pussy comes back and says "ah look I'm a winner even thought I didn't take the bet!"

Its funny, I was just thinking the other day when gas first hit $1.80/gallon watching those news reports with some woman filling up her Tahoe moaning and complaining. The segment continued ever since then, just the price edged up.

And then I remembered that was only maybe 5 years ago?

Gas prices seem to keep slowly inching up, despite oil holding steady at about $40/barrel. It's gone from $1.75->$1.85 over the past couple weeks here in Austin.

Some summer, but not this one. Bubbles don't regrow so quickly :)

On which information to you base this conclusion? Gasoline has already pass 2 dollar and heading for 3 dollar and it is still in middle of winter.

I base it on reality. Oil was a huge bubble and it burst, it won't be up past $100 any time soon unless there is some big war or something of similar impact.

You connected oil with gasoline. Gasoline has been rising steadily with no connection to oil.

It's true, I did connect gasoline's price with oil. It's a very strange concept and totally unprecedented to think of any link between them, but I have made it nonetheless.

Are there any (non-conspiracy) reasons for this?

Or is it actually a conspiracy?

In reality, gas should lag oil adjustments by 3-4 weeks. That is the time to get from the wellhead to the pump.

As we know, last year, reality was on vacation
