Kobe is seriously on a mission. The Lakers came to play, both ends of the court. They hurried back on defense consistently. A sweep wouldn't surprise me a bit. I was rooting for the Nuggets until I saw the Lakers demolish them in the first game at Denver. Right then I realized that the Lakers have what it takes to win the title. I don't see it in Orlando.

Magic players are soft and unmotivated compared to Nuggets players, and Lakers totally dismantled Nuggets in Denver. After last night's game, it's pretty clear the Lakers want the championship more than the Magic, they're gonna destroy Magic in Orlando, deja vu all over again.

Maybe it was Finals jitters since it is their first. Everyone on the Magic was horrible. I think the Magic will win next game at LA then 2 at home but not two in a row.

This is Magic's 2nd Finals appearance. Shaq + Penny in 95, and they got destroyed by Rockets.

No way Magic will win in LA. Lakers will ride the momentum and win game 2 at home and game 3 in Orlando, lose game 4 by a few buckets, and blow out Magic in game 5 for the championship.

Pretty much, I've called it 4-1 to the lakers previously but I'm having trouble seeing the magic win one game. Still gonna root for the Magic though.

How do you not see the Magic winning one game? They had a horrible game which won't happen again. Someone off the bench made more shots than anyone in their starting 5. They missed so many open shots which is unlike them. Get Jameer Nelson the hell out of there and leave them how they have been playing and they will do just fine.

I'll believe it when I see it. If game 1 is any indication, they are not going to be "just fine."

You can never base any team or series on one game. If anyone would then Lakers would have been out of every series. The NBA is too unpredictable. It wasn't so much the Lakers beating the Magic, is was the Magic beating themselves.

Van Gundy is smart enough a coach to make adjustments and its going to be more difficult for the lakers than game 1, But this isn't 1985 and the series isn't going to flip. Orlando is going to bring more of the laker's energy and aggressiveness from now on but lakers still have the personnel to swarm howard and hawk Orlando on the perimeter. Orlando will try to rebound better but that will collapse some of their perimeter looks as well.

Beyond that, Kobe seemed physically the strongest I've ever seen him play, and probably the most jordanesqe (offensively atleast). He scored 40, yet had no 3's and only 8 ft's. His persistent energy and attacking got himself great looks, and he converted even when hit. It was greatness.

low scoring game so far...
Both team's are messy. Too many turnovers, lazy offense. Or, just maybe good defense for both. I doubt the Magic can keep up this defense for all 4 quarters.

wow, good good hustle odom for the block. sheesh, still pretty much a stalemate as either team tries to get into some sort of offensive rhythm

What a stupid 4th foul call on Bynum. Hedo leans in and hits him, all without leaving the floor, then goes up for the shot? I HATE those kinds of fouls.

Euro's are good with non-foul calls and turning them into fouls.
