Last night was the most important game of the series.

I know it's silly to say that a team is going to win it all after a Game 1 win, but Phil Jackson is 43-0 in the playoffs when his team wins Game 1. This series is over...it just might take a few more games for it to officially play out. ;)

I will still watch though, as this is a dream series for me. I have two favorite teams...one in the East and one in the West. Guess which two are my favorites? :p

3's, jump shots, layups; Orlando missed them all and LA rarely missed. Terrible game by Orlando. I hope they get their shit straightened out by Sunday. I want to see some tight finishes.

I wonder what 2k sports would do if kobe in Knick's jersey wins? I'm thinking it'll be rigged to ensure that it won't happen.

I figure starting line-up changes will be Gasol on Howard and Odom on Lewis. Bynum just isn't good enough offensively and defensively for Howard and Gasol can work that Euro-flopping talent that all Euro's have to put Howard in foul trouble.

They might use Bynum to get some early hard fouls on Howard.

He is just too strong down low for Gasol. However, once Dwight is outside the key, he turns into an average player.
Outside the key? Last night I don't recall him even attempting anything outside of 10 feet.

He was trying to face up Bynum early and drive on him.

Hes going to get several more offensive fouls if she continues to throw that elbow around like that.

I'm not sure anybody can guard Gasol, he's that good. Last night he was hitting those high arching 20 footers, NBN. And he's got a quick release (doesn't even elevate, but he's 7 feet), and an assortment of great moves inside of 12 feet with great touch and quickness.

Yea the Lakers announcer has been there forever. Well as long as i can remember. He's not very energetic. Probably an old geezer.

The overblown theatrics of NBA team introductions in the playoffs are ridiculous and demean the sport.

which is why he's going to neutralize dwights offense in this series. last night dwight had a bad game but gasol didn't get too many touches either. he cleaned up and played within kobe's explosive game, letting kobe take over while still being extremely effective.

This may be the last piece of BS I take from Comcast, I absolutely despise them.

I got it in HD but I do over the air (rooftop antenna). I did have a problem, though. Just before the 1st half ended the sound of the announcers started sounding really weird. It was as if they were recorded by a microphone on the other side of the room, but the level was boosted to compensate. It was like that during 1/2 time and until several minutes into the 2nd half and then it suddenly resolved. Did anyone else experience this. I was watching on ABC 7, KGO San Francisco.

I'm buying Kobe's shoes when they win. Then I'm gonna set them on fire and piss on 'em to put out the flames

Yeah, right. They hung in the 1st quarter, then fell steadily behind until it was out of reach. They were demoralized by the end of the 3rd quarter. SVG gave them a pep talk to maintain their dignity and show that they aren't going to back down and concede the series. One thing about these Lakers, though. They aren't shy to humiliate their opponents. They have the heart of an assassin.

Yup, it happened to me exactly where you say, near the end of the 2nd quarter. I was watching on HD over the air, KGO TV San Francisco. I figured it for a network problem, basically some glitch at the Staples Center. Took them a 1/2 hour or more to fix it. Pissed me off, it was really annoying. :|

Kobe is seriously on a mission. The Lakers came to play, both ends of the court. They hurried back on defense consistently. A sweep wouldn't surprise me a bit. I was rooting for the Nuggets (against the Lakers, actually!) until I saw the Lakers demolish them in the first game at Denver. Right then I realized that the Lakers have what it takes to win the title. I don't see it in Orlando.

Awesome game Lakers. I want to see that intensity for another 3 wins.

No screwing around. Those 3's are going to fall for Orlando in a couple games. You cant rely on Kobe for 40 a night.

Lets get #4

@ Stereotypical Kobe haters: I hope you had your tail between your legs tonight.
I used to dislike Kobe (didn't hate him), but I really like him now. He's saying the right things, has his feet on the ground. Also, he speaks his mind, says exactly what he thinks and doesn't alter his words in an effort to please people or avoid offending others. Gotta love that!

Everyone knows the Magic are not going to win the series but Magic will some back to push it to at least 6 games. They had a horrible night. Maybe it was Finals jitters since it is their first. Everyone on the Magic was horrible. I think the Magic will win next game at LA then 2 at home but not two in a row.

Magic players are soft and unmotivated compared to Nuggets players, and Lakers totally dismantled Nuggets in Denver. After last night's game, it's pretty clear the Lakers want the championship more than the Magic, they're gonna destroy Magic in Orlando, deja vu all over again.

This is Magic's 2nd Finals appearance. Shaq + Penny in 95, and they got destroyed by Rockets.

No way Magic will win in LA. Lakers will ride the momentum and win game 2 at home and game 3 in Orlando, lose game 4 by a few buckets, and blow out Magic in game 5 for the championship.

Pretty much, I've called it 4-1 to the lakers previously but I'm having trouble seeing the magic win one game. Still gonna root for the Magic though.

Van Gundy is rethinking the Nelson situation. I think he was effective but Alston needs to play the bulk of the mins. Play Nelson for the whole 2nd quarter was pretty dumb imo.

How do you not see the Magic winning one game? They had a horrible game which won't happen again. Someone off the bench made more shots than anyone in their starting 5. They missed so many open shots which is unlike them. Get Jameer Nelson the hell out of there and leave them how they have been playing and they will do just fine.
