Wow surprised Biden actually said he and Obama don't support gay marriage 🙂

This isn't new. Recognizing equal rights/civil unions for gay couples != gay marriage

The federal govt doesn't marry people anyway, so they're really just talking about benefits, etc., and it appears that both sides on the same page there.

Vic, I'd beg to differ a bit, I can't even keep count of the number of posts here alone where people put alot of weight in the term marriage and want it extended ala Massachusetts to everyone.

Both candidates here sounded like they have no problem with the extension of benefits and what not, but neither wanted to stand behind extending the designation of marriage to homosexual couples...really seems to go against some of the liberal mantra 🙂

So like I said, ballsy for Biden for taking a hard stance on that, and wonder how much it will hurt them going forward.

And she keeps harping on the "cutting off funding for the troops" point.

As far as the gay marriage thing, basically Biden is saying we should maintain the status quo and allow gay couples to get the same benefits as married couples. Many Republicans (not all, and Sarah Palin did not promote this) want a marriage amendment that specifically prevents those benefits from getting to gay couples.

Obama can't admit it was a success? I guess she wasn't coached on that answer. God this bitch is a fucking disaster!

I thought that Obama admitted to Bill O'Reilly on Fox News that the surge worked?

My point exactly.

Read between the lines, they support civil unions.

Like I said above, as many argued here in the past, civil union isn't the same as "marriage" regardless if one gets the same benefits.

yay, the one thing they agree on is kicking me in the nuts

Meh, as long as you get the rights who cares about the formal term? The question is, do you believe Palin would actually follow through with her 'tolerance'?
