Hey Guys and Gals,

I have 2 positions open for a Mid to Senior Level Developer working here in Seattle at amazon.com

Requirements:

Excellent C/C++ Knowledge Required
Knowledge of XML and Related Technologies
Some scripting knowledge would be good (perl would be best)
At minimum 3 years of relavent industry experience, more is better obviously.
edit Some DB experience is required, Oracle is preferred but not neccesary

Send Resumes to Me directly.
Make your subject look like: <Real Name> - <ATOT Name> - Amazon Job Opening

All resumes must be in either MS Word Format or PDF (must be able to copy and paste from pdf), don't send me txt, html, xml, jpeg, powerpoint, openoffice, etc. I will delete it.

Salaries are pretty competitive here so if you do get an offer you'll probably be happy with it, other than that i can't give any more details as it an individual by individual thing.

I personally think this is a pretty fun company to work for. There is challenging work and the people are cool. And best of all you would get to work with yours truely pretty much everyday. (haha not sure if thats a good thing or not)

Lemme know if you have any questions.

PS: If you read this thread be nice to me and the other atoters looking for work and give this thread a bump, thanks.

bump for the "real" programmers.

I'd be interested if I had more C++ exp.

I'm sure Ameesh is much nicer in person.;)

By the way, if you have any certs, DO NOT include them on your resume.

I have 2 years of DB development experience and am very comfy programming in C++, but never used it professionally, have tons of college projects though. Have a 4 year CE degree, would I qualify? Oh yeah I'm also on H1-B, but could transfer if necessary.

If not, then Bump.

Edit: Missed the 3 years work exp. oh well..

Sounds like an awesome opportunity. If only I had a little more industry experience. Please let us know if you have any entry-level SDE positions open.

Looks like a great opportunity. I've love to go to Seattle some day, but I'm trying my own thing in my marooned state of OK.

Btw, bump.

It's a good thing you're a computer programmer and not an English teacher.

BTW, great post, way to lookout for ATOT

I defintely will, i know there are a lot of you out there but unfortunately in today's climate, companies are being picky about who they hire as far as experience goes. I will keep my eyes open though, hopefully i will find some more opportunties for you guys.

It's called a joke, maybe you should learn to get a sense of humor.

Once again Chad, you fail to comprehend a simple joke. Are you also going to flame the guy who asked if he could send his resume in jpeg format? noob

Hey damnit, don't use my name! :)

I'll happily call myself an ignoramus for my lack of sarcastic acuity.

Thank you once again for your help.

Has hiring picked up in WA state, or is it still slow?

I'll try to get that unemployed thread from dmcowen674 stickied once again.
