If not, then Bump.

Edit: Missed the 3 years work exp. oh well..
You shouldn't let the 3 years bit discourage you. If you feel you are qualified then send your resume in. It looks to me like Ameesh is personally screening these so if he decides to take yours in it will probably get looked at. You should be trying to impress him that you are qualified for the job in spite of you lack of experience. If he feels you are good for the job he may help you get it.

This is exactly how I found my job. My position required 3 years experience in the gambling industry, yet I beat out 50 other candidates (some with PhDs) being fresh out of college with no prior work experience. Why? Because my neighbor who worked there thought I was a good candidate and personally submitted my resume. All that did was insure that my resume didn't get thrown away. The rest was up to me nailing the interview. If you think you can do it, DO IT!

Kyteland is right, i will be screening the resumes before i pass them on, but the positions that are open right now are for experienced people only. They really want to fill the spots with guys with ~7 years experience but they will entertain resumes with only 3. Because of the techincal difficulty of the project , you will need tobe at least a little seasoned. As not only does the position require techincal skills but youre going to have to be able to deal with a lot of different upper management people asking you to do things you shouldnt do.

sent it off...I'm a little bit below your target exp level but I thought I'd give it a shot. Keep an eye out for junior programmer positions for me too.

lol, I know this is a serious thread but that cracked me up. I present to you a short skit.

Ameesh: "Okay TubStain that concludes the tour of the Amazon.com facilities. The last thing I need to tell you is this - NEVER PRESS THIS RED BUTTON. Just trust me on this, I'll explain later."

TubStain: "Wha? Well...sure, no problem."

Ameesh: "Alright see you at lunch. THUG LYFE!"

Ameesh leaves on the way back to his office. Immediately, TubStain encounters Upper Management.

Upper Management: "Oh hey TubStain, welcome to the family. Have you pressed this red button yet?"

TubStain: "Wha? Well...no, I was told in no uncertain terms not to."

Upper Management: "Oh don't be such a p*ssy. Press it."

TubStain: "Well...okay..."

TubStain presses the red button. SkyNet activates and proceeds to enslave humanity.

TubStain: "F*!$."

Well, I would apply, but I have not finished college, and while not explicitly said, I believe it is implicit. I meet all the other requisites though. I guess once I get close to finishing college, ATOT, and Ameesh will be one of the first places I look.

Why'd you decide to take a job at Amazon instead of MS? I've heard MS has an awesome stock matching plan...

MS really bends their developers over and rams a BIG BLUNT object into ... you get the idea (Pound me in the arse prison)...

And financially, I don't think Amazon is doing to great... but I can be wrong.

BUMP for jobs though.

TubStain, make sure that you consult with an immigration expert before getting too far into the interview process with anything that would require you to transfer your H1-B visa. H1-B's are given on very strict provision about position and location and most often require 3 years' work history. You can land yourself in complicated stuff by trying to transfer an H1-B if all the requirements aren't met. Just out of curiousity, did you come here on an F1?

There's a governmental cap on H visas right now and it's been reached for this year. People can file petitions for new H visas and get in line. In the new fiscal year in October, they'll open the doors up for the new H visa requests that were filed. They expect the 2004 fiscal year allotment of H visas to be used up between Oct 1 and Oct 31 or Nov 15. Of course, this wouldn't apply to your transfer of an H visa, but I find it interested anyway.

haha.

Seriously though, what developer doesn't have management asking you to to things you shouldn't do.

hire me hire me hire me!

something about me besides the obvious technical talent:
i like guns. deadlines suck. i hate people that piss me off, especially managers. did i mention i like guns?

So when can I start?

edit:
Salary requirements: 6 figures (but of course you knew that since it's self-evident that I'm such a talented guy)
