do a search for Dixiesys in hot deals and you will come up with a few long threads about them. Experiences vary, but overall good

with all these 2 for 1 says going on, you have to wonder how they are staying in business? I've noticed the quality of service has drastically gone down since these sales. This looks dangerously like the last web host that scammed everybody.

i dont know but heck, I been sign up since halloween and been happy and Im gonna go in for another pair of 3.95 small hosting hehe

Most people dont even use more then 50 meg of the webspace.. and I think thats what they're counting on

I host one for CS and that only took like 3 meg w/o maps and 50 with a few maps for people to download
and one for personal use where I just had my friend unload his yahoo crap and upload his stuff to the site to make good use of the 3.95 i spend a month.. which is NOT much

Before we get into a long drawn-out debate about them staying in business (search various A*Tech and FW forums including this one if you really wanna read them), this is reportedly their last half-price sale for the foreseeable future (possibly forever) before they establish a new pricing structure the first of the year.

Great host, excellent tech support and response times to questions (when you consider the $3.95 per month!!!).

Yep this'll probably be the last 2 for 1 as we know it, I may do some Reseller only specials in the future, not sure yet.

I have a new web site and new pricing ready to unveil on January 1st, now that we've reached a comfortable size that can support me financially, I really don't need, nor want, 400 new customers a month anymore, I'd like to take at least a handful of months and just kind of grow into the company we've become, although at the new pricing I'll have in place I'll dang sure take those 400 new customers if they sign up :D

Basically I want to start focusing on improving customer support with the new year and also in increasing the overall quality of the service, especially for the new plans with guaranteed uptimes. We're making enough money I can quit focusing so much on growth and focus a lot more on improvement and that's what the New Year brings, but I have had a Christmas sale planned for a long time so I had this last 2 for 1.

You can read a much longer post on this on our forums here:
Post on our forum

As for money, well let's just say I make a living and leave it at that, when the accountant gets done with my taxes I'll know myself how much I made last year until then it's just guesses on my part. But it's certainly enough for me to live, all my bills are caught up!

Ya, I've been with dixie sys for almost a year now and it's cheap, fast, stable, and the best customer support of any web associated entity I've delt with. Great deal!

Haha, yeah there are a bunch of furniture stores in town having their last "sale" as well...

A big mistake a shopper can make is assuming they won't ever be able to get a product because it won't be "on sale" ever again..

Can someone tell me how they think it compares with this company: http://www.splicehost.com My concern is with the Bandwidth cap. I know it's pretty high, but Unlimited is always better. Details of plans here.

Also, do most people just opt for two different plans or for one plan with double quota? Thanx in advance.

there's no such thing as unlimited. =)

isnt 8-95.com (gary's other joint venture) cheaper than going with dixiesys? you get more space and bandwidth...

Gary, I think he needs a lesson on what "unlimited" really is...... Care to chime in? :)

um... i dont know what you're seeing but i only see 3 deals on 8-95.com:

$8.95/mo
750 Megs of Space
9 Gigs Transfer
750 Email addresses

$8.95/6mo
50 Megs of Space
1 Gig Transfer
50 Email addresses

$3.95/mo
300 Megs of Space
4 Gigs Transfer
300 Email addresses

and none of these are comparable to the currently dixiesys 2x plans...

I have been with Dixiesys since last year. I was originally hosted on the old Server 5. I am very happy with its service. Sometime things go wrong, but they fix it right away. Nothing is perfect. Just like Gary said before, this is for the individual and small business hosting. If you can¡¦t take few minutes downtime, you might want to look else where.

Dixiesys teaches me a lot about web hosting. From the personal hosting to current reseller hosting, I would say I have learned a lot of stuff.

Gary:
Will I be eligible for the ¡§2 for 1 Deal¡¨ if I upgrade my current small reseller status to medium reseller status? It¡¦s count as upgrade too, right?

BTW, some of my customers are asking about the data center? What kind of connections they are running?

Unlimited hard drives don't exist, and no data center provides unlimited Net feeds for its customers. Any host offering you unlimited anything is deceiving you. The fine print will note that there in fact are limits -- and if it doesn't, it just means they're running a very unstable business. Either way, you should run in the opposite direction.
