Yes, that's what Newegg customer service keeps telling me. Tell me, who do you think is the culprit here? Newegg or BFG? Or both?

Idiot user's returning their cards with buyer's remorse?

yeah i dont understand the point of this topic either
i doubt anyone here works for newegg, so not much people can do here

if newegg sent him an open box item instead of a new item (aka, he did not purchase an open box), they can't replace it with an open box item for him, they should replace it with a new one since that is what he ordered.
However, if the rep gives you a 100$ discount and says "DON'T BUY ANOTHER ONE" why don't you listen?

Seems to me the line "Idiot user's returning their cards with buyer's remorse?" was unfortunately ambigious.
Could mean either 'OP is being sent cards that other idiots have previously returned' or 'OP is an idiot returning his card'. I think it mean the former, but could be read as the latter.

That's what I'm thinking as well.
OP: I just want to get this straight. You actually "bought" 3 9800GX2's? From NewEgg?
I'm a little confused because "I just tried to register my third BFG 9800 GX2 bought from Newegg" is telling me that you bought all 3 from Newegg. OR! Is it that you bought 1 from Newegg and RMA'd twice to BFG? Because BFG doesn't want anyone RMA'ing merchandise to the retailer. They always include a little card specifying not to do so and only deal directly with BFG for any RMA services. Clear us up on this. -thanks.

Let me try to explain it so even you can understand:
I bought several components from Newegg that was shipped in one undamaged box. One of those components I ordered was one BFG 9800 GX2. The retail box showed damage to one corner. After I opened it, a piece of the cast fell out. The housing surrounding the fan was cracked. So I got an RMA right away. Shipping back to Newegg was free. The second retail box they sent me, with free overnight service, showed large damage to one corner. So much so that it looked like an animal had chewed on it. After opening , I discovered bent metal of the part that mounts to the computer case. Oh, and the shipping box was not damaged. Another RMA. Newegg was gracious enough to discount me $100.00 off the next card. They suggested in an email with all kinds of misspelling and bad grammer, to pick another brand. I thought that gal was pleading with me to do so. But I still wanted the BFG. So they sent me another one. Again with free overnight service. The third shipping box and the retail box showed no outward damage. But this card had the metal that mounts to the side of the MB next to the case bent all the way back touching the bottom of the card. Well, by then I had enough of it all. So I bent the metal straight and installed just fine in my new case. In fact I am writing this on said computer. As I said at first, I tried to register this third card at BFG's website. It said the serial number had been registered already. That was the last straw. It usually takes a lot to piss me off. And, as you have noticed, I have surpassed that point. I have always sung the praises to anybody who would listen about Newegg. At my work, I have even suggested to some managers to study and emulate Newegg's customer service policys. Maybe I am an idiot for standing up for Newegg for so long. I feel like I have been manipulated or lied to.
And to top all this, resellerratings.com has placed my review of this transaction over a review I had written 2 years ago. I emailed them about that and they emailed me back with an answer that did not make sense. Incredibly weird.
What I have just written is a condensed version of all the events. Please try to understand my frustration. Thank you.
