I know it's your gf he's talking about, but IcebergSlim was right (I can't believe I said that!). If you don't want people to poke fun in whatever manner they see fit, then don't give them the opportunity (i.e. don't create threads about your gf).

She's averaging 9.57 mpd? Does she plan on finishing this year? I did a thru-hike about 6 yrs ago and would have never finished at that pace. Twisted ankle? She shouldn't even be out there if she's going to complain about something like that.

I wondered that too. When I tagged along with a hiking group at an internship, they'd get along at around 3 mph.
