She's averaging 9.57 mpd? Does she plan on finishing this year? I did a thru-hike about 6 yrs ago and would have never finished at that pace. Twisted ankle? She shouldn't even be out there if she's going to complain about something like that.

I wondered that too. When I tagged along with a hiking group at an internship, they'd get along at around 3 mph.
