McDonalds turned my ass down when I was 16. A few years ago I got to turn down a chance to work at their corporate office. 😀

So yes, I think I should've answered Disagree for that one.

I think another problem was one of the leadership questions. It asked if I prefer being a member or a leader and I said a member, because that is true. However they probably want ALL their employees to be leaders.

But imagine, working at RS = 10 miles a week on my car.
Working in Cranberry Township = 100 miles a week on my car.

🙁

For that question Leaser would have been the best answer because it means you are able to make decisions for yourself and don't need other people to tell you what to do, In other words it mean you can think on your feet not always needing guidance.

I was rejected from working in computers at Staples. Their neighbouring competitor Best Buy hired and loved me off. Now I only go into Staples to hit them with pricematches that make them lose money. Idiots.

haha

did you take the computerized application test? I couldn't stop laughing..."how many times a week do you use marijuana...0...1...2-3....4+" hahahaha!

"People often use politeness to hide their real intentions." Agree or Disagree

So is this how I messed it up? I thought they wanted the truth and not BS but should I have answered like a nice pretty Christian boy for all of those questions? I figured they'd see right through that if I did it.

Actually the answer to that is no, even truthfully. People don't often do that, unless you hang around a bunch of fake lying conniving con artists or something. It should be a rare occurance for someone to do that. So yeah you were wrong. Oh well.

You should take the TSA test. THe Personality section has 400 questions!!!

the best one: Do you believe Aliens planted the first humans on Earth? Yes or No

My Mother-in-law does that...

Yeah the operative word there was often. People do hide their real intentions, but if they do it often or you encounter people who do that all the time somethin ain't right.

You gotta figure if people are having trouble leveling with you, maybe you intimidate them or are argumentative with them so they'd rather lie to you than deal with the consequences. Well that's one way of looking at it anyway. 😉

Get over it dude, it's Radio Shack. If you got hired you'd eventually be embarrassed to say you worked there anyway.

I'm still in extreme anger mode. I'm at work and keep thinking about it and keep wanting to bash my head in for answering so stupidly.

Why would I ever say I prefer to be a member and not a leader, whether that's true or not? And you're 100% right about the politeness question, that's definitely a Disagree.

The second question was another one like that, I remember the answer of the person who took it before me was still circled, and I remember disagreeing with it and marking the other answer. I really wish I could remember what it was.

stop beating yourself up. it's just a game to learn whatever bullshit answers they're looking for. next time you take one of these you'll have a better idea what to put down.

Were many of the questions the same just phrased differently?
One test I took for a company (8 friggin hours) had a section like that looking for deviations.

don't let it get to you. Store probably run by college rejects on a power trip. You wouldn't have enjoyed it anyways.

i think those tests are to weed out the idiots... if you answer truthfully with exceptions in mind, you are too smart for the job and will want raises, etc.

if you answer what they want you to answer, you are a dumbass therefore capable of working a crappy job for low pay

You know, there might be a lot of truth to that...

Does that imply that they discriminate against employees, based on religion? That question seems to be clearly aimed at weeding out the disiples of LRH..

I'm sure a lot of you know what this is. It takes forever, it's like 100 questions, and they're all hypothetical, and you have to agree or disagree. I had to take this for Sears, as well, but I passed. This time I didn't. What a load of BS, what could I have done wrong? Some examples:

"People often use politeness to hide their real intentions." Agree or Disagree

Well, of course that's true, but if I say Agree, they might think I'm more likely to do it myself. On the other hand, if I put Disagree, they know I'm BSing them, so I put the truthful answer, Agree. That doesn't mean *I'm* going to do it, it means that people often DO do that, which is true

Those tests are absolutely worthless. In fact, they're beyond worthless because you have to lie to pass. If you tell the truth, you won't get hired.

I had to take one of those tests for a previous job and I got every question right. I just told them what they wanted to hear, but it certainly was not the truth.

They probably caught you lying in the test. It's hard to 'fail' these things, unless you're a psychopath... but it's easy to catch people who are lying and trying to pass off as somebody who they aren't. You should have answered the questions as you truly saw them, and not as what you thought they wanted to hear.
