what is your theory then? 3 high school kids dress up in camo/military uniform with trying to do a columbine in an army base?

I'm just going by what the media is reporting. And i think 3 mental patients snapping at the same time is unlikely.

Oh oh, maybe it's auric goldfinger's half-brother trying to rob fort hood disguised as a solder.

lol

I've been on base at least 20 times (at Ft Hood). They used to search all cars extensively. Last time I was there once you checked in at the visitors center, you were in.

This is an inside job.

I doubt they were doing 100% vehicle checks. It's tough to say, but measures change. Needless to say, it'll be a pain in the ass to get on any base for a while.

According to Yahoo there were only two shooters and it sounds like the whole thing is over.

Army spokesman Lt. Col. Nathan Banks says the first shooting began at about 1:30 p.m. at a personnel and medical processing office. The facility, called a Soldier Rating and Processing center, handles administrative details for soldiers.

Banks says two shooters were apparently involved. There was no immediate word on who they were, nor on identities of the dead.

Banks says the second incident took place at a theater on the sprawling base.

Local congressman John Carter, speaking to NBC News, confirmed that there had been a shooting at the base, saying the gunfire had erupted during a graduation ceremony.

The BBC's Adam Brookes in Washington says there are military police and Swat teams on the scene, and the FBI is on the way. Schools in the area have also been locked down.

CNN says they have information that there were two gunman with M-16's.

wow, you're probably right, inside job. or some how, they acquired the weapons from the base.

My last visit to Ft. Hood was late 2006 before my nephew and his wife went to Ft. Bliss. MPs were a dime a dozen. I'd imagine all visitors will now be banned until the dust settles.

On MSNBC, I heard General McCafferty state that he didn't believe that it was a terrorist attack, and that instead, he believes it was a criminal enterprise.

I guess that's plausible. drugs?

ugh I wish people would stop throwing the word terrorist around... that shit is all over twitter and creates bullshit panic for no reason. There are no details yet, just wait for the report before scaremongering.

How is opening fire on large groups of unarmed people not terrorism?

The shooters were wearing military uniforms, but it was unclear whether they were soldiers, said U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas.

One of the gunmen was shot and wounded by military police, Hutchinson told CNN. She said she got her information from a general on the base.

Up to 9 dead, now.

http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/11/05/texas.fort.hood.shootings/index.html

KCEN-TV is reporting that four SWAT officers were injured and that the second gunman, who was said to be aiming to kill with a high-powered rifle while barricaded, has been taken into custody.

news conference with general Cone, 1 suspect shot dead (a soldier), and 2 arrested (also soldier). weapons were all handguns.

Wow, three soldiers total? What the hell, now I'm really curious to what was the cause. I really don't think they all went psycho at the same time.

If this was a terrorist attack, it's the stuff of amateurs. Highly ineffective. 9 dead? Seriously?

Don't try to read more into that than is there. I am not saying more should have died. I am saying that if it was a terrorist attack, it was a lame one.

Edit: Suspects were US Soldiers. What now Pepsei?
