Secular forces try to de-Christ Christmas
This has to be the best time of the year: The special church programs, the fellowship with family, friends and neighbors, the inspiring Christmas music and songs heard everywhere, special holiday food, and of course, the exchange of gifts that our tokens of love of one another.
This is truly a blessed time with the celebration of the coming of the king of kings, our Lord. Or so we thought. For there is now, as never before, a concentrated effort to change the tru meaning of this day and to turn it into just another Holiday.
What we are witnessing today is a broad, systematic effort to change the meaning of Christmas. This is a new politically correct disease that is threatening to destroy this country and our culture and it stems from a hatred of Jesus Christ, His message, and the premise upon which our great country was founded.
This movement to take Jesus Christ out of Christmas is another sign of the Christian bashing that is occuring everyday. It is also part of the all out effort to re-write our Country's history to reflect a view that this country was not founded nor created on Christian principals. This assault on on our history is pure hogwash and a brief review of our Country's beginnings clearly demonstrates that.
The Mayflower Compact signed on Nov 11 1620, acknowledged the purpose of the Pilgrims settlement: "For the Glory of God and the advancement of the Christian Faith".
The Puritans who followed clearly stated their Christian mission declared their obedience to God. William Penn, the Quaker founder of the Colony of Pennyslvania wrote: "Men must be governed bu God, or they will be ruled by Tyrants." "Rule by Tyrants" is exactly what our early colonists were escaping.
Christian principles continued to be used in the formation of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, wit the central themes of God beiong the giver of life and liberty and based on His laws. The Bible was used as the principal tool for teaching school for our first 300 years. Our first Universities were founded on the purpose of advancing the word of God.
Today this country faces attacks on the ideas that formed it's foundation from the extreme left and the extreme right.
Corporate Executives from the elitist ivory towers want total control Government that they believe is the answer to everything and more powerful than Christian Law.
Those on the other extreme don't want any constraints on individual behavior. To further their adgenda, they must destroy the idea that this country was founded by christians. They must also discredit the documents that were created to establish this country.
The New York City School system has put a total ban on Nativity scenes and has claimed in court these scenes do not depict a hostorical event, and are not the basis for the celebration of Christmas. Yet the school system encourages displays of the Islamic Crescent and Star during Ramadan.
A sixth grader in Louisians was told by her teachers that she could not write a book report on her favorite book, The Bible.
Paintings of Jesus Christ in the public Libray in Meriden Connecticut were removed because they may be offensive to some.
Students in Royal Oak Intermediate School in Covina not only are taught about Islam, but practiced the religion and celebrated the Muslim Holy month of Ramadan.
The reason behind Christmas has to be destroyed by these people. For years, we have observed the systematic attack on our public institutions that had Christmas displays with Christmas themes. We now find a school teacher who is offended with the use of the word Christ in Christmas songs.
Christmas cards are being produced in huge quantities that take great pains to erase any mention of the reason behind this day. The meaning of Christmas rapidly is being changed to fit a certain viewpoint that is adamantly anti-Christian.
If this trend continues, the message of Jesus Christ will be diluted until this day will truly just be another secular Holiday. It has been said, "If Christ is taken out of Christmas, there will be no Christmas."
Said syndicated talk show host Dennis Prager: "Some of it is actually animated by a hostility to Christianity. There's no question about it. But let's be very clear; if this country drops it's Christianity we are doomed. This is a Judeo-Christian values-based culture."
On this day, the greatest day of mankind, may you have the peace and assurance that comes with the promise of Jesus Christ.
