pm, you are right on the border of Rocky Mountain National Park, do you ever run there? When I was there last (2008) I wasn't trail running and thus didn't. Now I'd give a lot to have a week to do so...

No, I've never actually run up there. On the map, the boundary of the park is close but it's actually about an hour's drive. I have done a bit of hiking up there and I am a cyclist and I have ridden up there (that's a long day's ride) but I haven't run.

I've been running around where I work mostly - nothing very pretty. I am thinking about training up to run the Colorado Marathon in May and that's a lovely run.

You guys have just about the best trail races in the country, if I could get a job there doing what I do, I'd be there in a heartbeat. *jealous*

Forgot to add the 11 miles for last week on Saturday.
I feel terrible that I didn't even get 13 miles in for the week. But, whatever.... I wasn't feeling well last week and took 2 days off. 11 miles is going to have to be enough. I did get out and run 5.4 on Sunday, so I feel better that I'm off to a good start for the week (I chart my mileage Sunday -> Saturday).

5K in a snowy, windy almost whiteout conditions tonight. Tested out my new headlamp which performed admirably! Really beautiful run.

Its a rayovac sportsman headlamp. 3 modes, water resistant, fits comfortably. And takes AAA batteries.

It is nothing fancy but it certainly seems quite functional. I'll test it more extensively in the coming months.

Looks like I won't be running this weekend though. Under the weather with some vicious nausea and vomiting. Probably got it from a patient :(

6 miles tonight.

I was running on the treadmill and watching a show on my wife's tablet. The show ended and I was only at four miles so I stepped off the tread for a few seconds to queue up another episode. When I got back on, my legs all of the sudden felt weak and I was having a hard time keeping up. I told myself to suck it up and keep going, so I made it another mile but by that time I had a side stitch and was breathing much harder than normal. I looked down at the control panel and realized I had bumped the incline up to 6% when I stepped off! Man I felt stupid. It sure made the last mile easy though once I dropped back down to 1 on the incline.

Haven't run since Thanksgiving due to my left IT band. Been doing stretches and hip abductor strengthening exercises. Finally went for a run today. Left knee still feel slightly wonky but got 3 miles in and no pain afterwards. Let's see how it holds out.

In regards to lights at night, I might pick-up a pair of these and see how they do.

After feeling bad that I only ran 11 miles last week, I made an effort to get some mileage in this week. I ran 19.45miles which I will round down to 19 flat for the thread.

I ran 5.6 miles yesterday and the sports-tracker application froze on me as I was saving the workout. It seems that my facebook login had to be re-entered and when the phone switched to the login, going back to sports-tracker made it freeze. Luckily, since it only froze and didn't crash, I was able to see all of the data (HR, Avg pace, etc..) so I wrote it down and entered it manually. The app posts my workout to my facebook page so they are nice and easy to keep track of. I'm now thinking of stopping the facebook postings. Especially since the same data is also posted at Sports-Tracker.com. But, since this is the first time it has happened, I'll wait and see.

FWIW: I ran 9.0miles tonight. It felt good doing a longer distance than I've been doing lately. I could have gone more, but decided to stop at that point. I didn't prepare and my nipples are sore now. Another 2miles and they might have been much worse. My birthday is coming up soon and I'll look to do 9.0miles or more when that time comes (I'm entering my "late 40's"). So, 9 miles is a great start to keep up the mileage this week!

4 miles tonight.

Going to try changing things up a little and run more days with lower daily mileage to slowly start building up my overall totals. I am hoping to do a half this year, so I need to get a little stronger.

No laughs from me. Today was the first day I feel strong enough to run and I of course had to work. Going to jam lots of mileage in wednesday and Thursday. Tomorrow fat ass 5k beer run.
