Tried a new trail today. Bad idea, not only was it nearly 85 degrees out but apparently the entire trail is on an open plain. Only .5miles of my run was in the shade. Coupled with the fact I worked 44 hours in the last 72 hours...that was misery.

+4 miles.

I purposely ran at 11:30am in 85 degree heat trying to acclimate to the heat.

Plus I got screwed on my Tough Mudder start times I requested 9:20 both days. They gave me 12:20pm on Saturday and 10:40am on Sunday. Sucky. But at least I'll be able to say I did two Tough Mudders in under 24 hours.

Wow, it's been quite a while since I've posted my miles here. I have logged 523 miles since April 24th, when I last added mine to the mix. The biggest news is that I ran Grandma's Marathon in Duluth, MN on Saturday, and finally broke 2:40 by running 2:39:08!! I can't even begin to explain how stoked I am to finally run that time. This was a goal I've been shooting for throughout the last 5 years, and came so close last year (2:40:58), it's like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders now that I've done it. I'm taking a week off now and focusing on cross country and road 5Ks this fall.

Congratulations! I can't even imagine what it's like to run that sort of speed - I'd be thrilled to death to hit my 3:25 target in my fall marathon!

5K tonight, 90 degrees at start time. I ended up second in my age group at 25:33. That's not bad for me so I'll take it!

+2.1 miles. Last run before my Tough Mudder x2 this weekend. Made it essentially a sprint drill cuz I felt so good. Splits were 7:45 and 7:49.
