6.5 tonight, I'll round down and use the balance next time. Dark technical trails with my eldest, it was fun.

Nice mega! feel good, don't they? :)

I did 12 + 12 + 18 since Sunday. Nice big 10 mile marathon pace workout today - averaged 6:10s so I'm well on my way to running 6:05s for MP! Last time I did a MP workout on the roads I did 8 miles and averaged 6:15s so my fitness is definitely improving (and it was on the same course).

It was not fun while doing it, but I was pretty proud when I got done and looked at my time.

Tonight I did 7 miles solo on the trails at Spencer Crest. My legs felt like lead. ugh

Thought I'd pop in after a bit of a hiatus :).

I've been in Australia since the start of April, on a working holiday. I was training infrequently, but I did manage a 14.6k tempo run in just under 55 min, so I was in decent shape. Did my foot in as a result of that run (tendinitis I think?) and I had to take a few weeks off.

Now I'm in Perth and doing some steady runs, and feeling healthy. Time to build up slowly again.

My total since I've been Down Under: 368km (230 miles)

Good seeing you IB. Enjoy your time down under mate. :)

Training plan called for an easy 3 tonight, but I can't do just 3. Who runs 3 miles? So I did 4. lol

Weird thing happened on the run. We were about a mile into it and it was pitch dark out and a bicycler pulls up behind us and scared the bejeebus out of us. The guy is on a trail with no light and had another 6 or so to go. hahaha, I hope he made it home ok.

Not a mileage update by any stretch, but I did want to tell my running brethren that in the last 2 months I have managed to drop 12 pounds whilst getting myself trained for Virgil Crest. I think in one more month (the race is 9/24) I can be down a solid 20 pounds. Some observations:

1. I feel better when I run (well, all the time actually). My legs suffer so much less punishment.

2. I feel hopped up all the time. My metabolism is through the roof.

3. I am hungry much of the time but my appetite is sated with less food.

4. Not really a good thing for a married man but the women are looking at me far more. My wife has noted instances where I get stalked in public places. This could be a problem, my wife is a jealous woman. oops
