Oh come on, that's all you are gonna say about it????? Details man! Congrats on finishing.

I on the other hand only have 8 miles to post for today. But they were on a trail so that's a plus.

Ahh I guess coming from ATOT I wasn't sure anyone would care 😉

I had been planning on running the Cleveland since last September. A buddy and I were going to prepare seriously for it for over 6 months, try to have a shot of qualifying for Boston and everything. We both had minor injuries and other things come up through the school year though, and we were incredibly unprepared. I stopped running regularly around winter time, and averaged less than one run per week from January to May. Nontheless, we decided to run it anyway because we already paid, and just do our best.

Stayed with the 3:50 (8:46/mile) pacegroup for the first 13 miles, and felt pretty good. Slowed down a little and lost them around mile 15. My friend started having quad cramp problems around 16, and I was getting tired as well. We took a short break to stretch, and ran again at about 9:00/mile until the 22, where he almost ate it due to cramping. We walked/ran the last few miles and finished in 4:33. Not the marathon I originally hoped for, but definitely still cool to have one under my belt. I'm really sore today.

Oh yea, conditions were really good (clear and ~60), everything went pretty much right for me. Especially after pretty much not running for nearly 6 months, and never having run further than 16 miles in my life, just finishing was definitely the goal. If I ever do one again it'll be after really preparing, in which case I might care about pace.

Good job on toughing it out. Most would DNF rather than see it through.

My son and I are running an inaugural trail marathon on May 29th, it's going to be brutal. Lots of elevation change, technical difficulties (roots, rocks, etc...) and several water crossings. I'm hoping for a sub 5 finish myself. 🙂

That sounds like lots of fun, good luck!

real easy 6 yesterday, plus 10 today. Did the second Dirt Cheap trail race today; 6 miles on some gnarly, muddy, hilly single-track trails. Lots of fun! Lots of mud! Finished 8th overall just jogging it so that was pretty cool. Unfortunately, my 4 mile cooldown meant all the beer was gone when I got back. 🙁

I managed to get a hilly 9 road miler in yesterday. The first 3 (the biggest hills) were a bear but after that I felt great. And it was so nice outside.
