12 trail miles this morning with my Stinger on. Last training run before the trail marathon next Saturday. It was super humid out, I was absolutely soaked by the time I got back to the car.

5 miles on the beach (plus some with Ultimate Frisbee...) barefoot! :) I think I wore off my blood blisters from the race two weeks ago...

Keep up the good work guys. I'm already getting twitchy. Have I mentioned before that I hate tapering?

I hear ya, Mega. Tapering is no fun at all. Sounds like the forecast for Saturday isn't all that bad; not even supposed to hit 70! Hope you guys have a blast; Ashlie and I will be in the Adirondacks, otherwise I would totally be there (maybe even running a leg). But good luck, be safe, and have fun!!!!

8 miles for me today. Tried to go easy, but every time I run with this one kid from Fleet Feet, we always do 6:40s. Guess I can't complain that it usually does feel easy!

This is crazy. It's not supposed to be 90 degrees in Michigan in May; it's just not right!

Anyway, couple short ones with some friends tonight:

3 miles this morning and another 7 this afternoon. It is brutally, disgustingly hot outside; 85 with relentless sun. They were both deathmarches. I really hope it cools down this weekend, especially for Mega's sake!

+27 today. 26.3 mile trail race, about a mile of warm-up and cooldown. Rounding down to 27.

I'm gonna write a race report, but for now let's just say holy fvck what a difficult course. First off, it was hot and humid. Second, tons of roots and rocks. Third - gullies! Fourth, there was about 4000 of net elevation gain. The elevation profile looks like a jagged sawtooth waveform with a steady overall rise. Fifth - deerflies. :(

The bad news is that my time sucked - I came in at 6:57:xx. The good news was that my son finished! He came in 20 minutes after I did, but he did NOT DNF this time. I am really proud of him. Our next race is in a month and is 50 miles on a trail, but the course is much flatter. Hopefully I can make a better report after that race.
