Wow, I just did 9 miles on the roads with my new Mizuno Wave Ascend 4s and the difference is night and day. My legs feel as fresh as they do after a similar trail run!! This is awesome, I was sure my dreams of doing triathlons was over since the roads were hurting me so badly. Now I'm back on track, a half iron is definitely do-able within a year's time.

glad to hear my fellow AT-ers are back in the swing of things!!! As for me, I did 4 miles this morning, 8 miles this afternoon to the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge, where I was volunteering, and a mile with my friend as his warmup. So 13 total, which brings us to.... 5033

Here ya go Fullmetal Chocobo. As long as you're doing it as exercise and not just out for a casual stroll walking is fair ball.

Hmmm. Definitely not walking casually, but not doing it for exercise either. More commuting. But it is exercise, especially with the central Texas heat coming. :) But I don't think it qualifies. Thanks though.

another 10 miles today. Scared the shite out of 2 girls who were walking along the trail I was running on. I came up behind them, and just as I was about to say "excuse me," they turned and saw me and went batshit crazy. Seriously, they nearly dove into the bushes on the other side of the trail, throwing their hands up in the air and screaming bloody murder. It took me back at first and actually scared me a bit too, but then it just made me laugh. Then, not even 2 minutes later, I scared 3 "grown-ups" walking their dogs on the trail in the same manner. I didn't think I was that intimidating.... Anyway, brings us to 5083

You must have been running like an animal Scorch. :p

I didn't run today as I wanted to, but I will be on the trails bright and early tomorrow come hell or high water.

10 miles today, which is the farthest I've ever gone. Since I've never gone that far before, I kept the pace relaxed, and would have been able to keep up a conversation the whole way. Wound up taking about 1 hr 45 min.. This running thing, it's addicting. :)

So +3 from wednesday and +10 from today =

A pleasant 10 miles on my trails. The trails were lined with flowers, birds were singing, and the cool breeze never stopped blowing. It was awesome.

14 miles on the Mendon Pond trails. It was a beautiful run for me too, although the 4 miles back to my apartment on the roads kind of sucked as it wasn't just a cool breeze; it was a gale-force wind that tried to push me back every step. But the miles on the trails were awesome.
