Long day but all running related. Woke up at 5:30am to get into Boston to meet my running team to pose for next week's SI Cover of Boston Strong at the Finish Line for 7am.

Pics from the back waiting.

While waiting, several ladies were walking around handing out hand knitted scarves from all around the country to anyone running this year. Mine is from Hollis, NH.

But after waiting 30 minutes, our team decided to move up front to take some team pics and we had a cop take our pics and we learned that we were all waiting for the Mayor of Boston to show-up and he wasn't scheduled to come til 8:30am. So, we decided to leave and do our last long run before the Marathon.

After the long run, we decided to walk over the Boston Public Library to visit the Boston Marathon Memorial of Last Year. Sad stuff.

And this evening, our marathon team was honored on the field at Gillette Stadium at the New England Revolution soccer game.

Awesome report, Capt. Caveman! And being honored on the field - very cool.

+13.1 this morning. First "official" race of the year (not counting the February marathon that got canceled due to weather and I ended up running on my own). A new PR at the half distance - 1:31:19. So close to breaking 1:30 - may have to try again in May.

8 miles with the new shoes. Feel just as fast as my regular 890's, but cushier. I like 'em.

They are the new 980 "Fresh Foam". Silly name. 4mm drop from heel to forefoot. The new trend of "maximal" shoes.

I've been running in Hokas for the past few months, I love this new maximal shoe movement.

4.1 miles this morning.

One more run on Saturday before the big day. I've been checking out those fresh foams as they'd provide more cushioning than my NB 730s but I found them to not be as flexible. Plus, I thought it was too late to change shoes.
