1. Home & Little Big Planet - Are you kidding me? Home looks great! It's free too. Blows Live, which is rather bland, out of the water. And if you don't want to use the 3d interface, the new features are available from the XMB as well. LBP is sweet looking...
2. Free Online - See above. In the future, Sony's free online will be a much better deal than having to pay $50 a month for Live (assuming it all works well, which it probably will). BTW: If I just dropped $600 on a console, I'd want to shoot myself if I had to pay $50 each year just to play online. That's silly. Sony's online is growing, and I must say the games are almost lag-free. Why is everyone complaining?
3. 50 GB games - Psh...who cares? I'd rather play on my NES cartridges anyways! To say we don't need more space (at least in the future) is pretty ignorant. Why do you think systems use increasingly larger format sizes? It's because they NEED it to get the best graphics/sound that they can. Using the streaming technology from UE3 (read the original article), having more and more space allows for better looking, and much bigger games. Eventually with DVD you'll sacrifice the best visuals or having a bigger game. BTW: Kojima said that he wished he had MORE space than 50gb for MGS4. Does that say anything?
4. Casino Royale - It's a lame point...
5. HDMI - Another lame point with the 360 elite now (which is worthless, I think...), but it's a good move to have it as an option to use (more standard than 360).
6. Standard HDD - This is good. Sony and developers KNOW the user has a HD. Downloading things can be for EVERYONE now. Also, some games can use the space to help load times in-game (ex: Oblivion has apparently 2x faster loads than 360) or for other features. Having a standard HD is a great choice for growing games.
7. The Wii Fad Will Fade - I think this is true. At least in my area, everyone was excited about the DS, but no one cares now. The only people I see playing it are little kids. Example: My cousin (age 16) was excited to get a Wii. He got one, beat Zelda, and it is now collecting dust.
8. PS3 Has a Major CPU Advantage - No brainer
9. PS2 still outselling 360 - Half-lame point, but it just shows that Sony has the games over Microsoft...and I think this will mostly continue (but to a lesser extent) for the PS3.
10. Something For Everyone - It's true. Nintendo is mostly geared towards "less-offensive" games, and Microsoft is slowly adapting the whole variety. Sony already has that. It has kids games all the way to the games like GTA. Sony has anything from racing, RPGs, FPS, etc. Sony also has the BIG titles in those genres (FF, MGS, GT, etc). Microsoft is working at it, and it's quite obvious that they're gaining support similar to Sony's.
Sure, maybe the guy is being a fanboy...but he's saying it for himself...Sony isn't paying him (no endorsement). Still, I'd trust a fanboy in the gaming industry (a big, important guy at that too) over a general fanboy. His fanboy-ness probably comes from good reason and experience.
To say the PS3 won't win the generation seems to be a strange prediction. I think the PS3 has a lot going for it, but apparently Sony bashing is cool. It's a much tighter competition this time around, but I still think Sony will take the lead. Next-gen, though...who knows. It's closing in.
Now that I think about it though, LBP looks good, but why make a whole point over it? I'd say other games will help the PS3 more than that game.
