I'm getting up there in my DD ranking. Building my team with players from 2-3 teams helps with the "command" missions. Just playing with A's players I got Reggie Jackson.

It pushes you to pay to win really. No different than how NBA2k series has become

I don't think the game pushes you to pay to win -- I think the other players do. If people are spending tons of money (post in their forums speak of 100s of dollars) then to keep up other people will need to spend money.

No thanks. That's ridiculous. I refuse to spend money on these games -- I'd rather grow my team naturally and be "proud" of any accomplishments.

I'm getting tired of people trying to time out the pause menu hoping the game will freeze when I'm winning. Sore effing losers. And lol Homerboy, you did describe the pay to win business model.

*sigh*

this game is really infuriating. The latest patch really screwed shit up (back to launch date "quality"). This morning their theshownation.com was down. Now it's back up but I can not put in ANY buy/sell orders. ("We're sorry, but an error occurred. Please try again later.")

Just absolutely useless.

I get picked off almost 100% now when I take one step beyond the standard lead. That was fun to discover.

*sigh* Haven't played online since the 1.04 patch due to the resounding issues with it.
Decided on Saturday "Ok, I will give it a shot"
Got into a GREAT 14 inning game with no cheesy play (bunts, baserunning etc). Clutch hits. Clutch pitching. Strategic subs. Just a real_good_baseball_game.
Top of the 14th I take a 1 run lead. I have 1 pitcher left, my closer. Pause game to sub him him get IMMEDIATE "Your game has been forfeited" message.

Exit screen shows I lost 11 points in my ranking, box score shows up through 7th inning.

*SIGH*

Unbelievable this has been so shitty so long.

That's the only time when I see a game use the word forfeited. The online play has been fine with me.

I got Syndergaard from the captain tickets. The dude is a monster.

that is what I have heard/read. I'm working towards him.

Also been buying up complete team sets (cheaper ones like Braves and the like) to get their bonus players. Been doing a lot of card flipping on the market too -- only make 300-600 stubs a flip but I can do a few while at work and make 1-2K in a day

It's funny, how I occasionally encounter the shitty player that has all diamond level players. Makes me wonder if they dropped hundreds of dollars on stubs just to get them.

Also, it drives me INSANE when the coding makes a player do a finesse or casual throw when it's imperative that they get the ball thrown as fast as they possibly can. Losing close games due to this is going to give me ulcers, I swear.

Yeap. This is a horrible issue with the game. There are way too many infield singles too.

Ugh. Tried to play over PS Remote Play.
That's impossible. Bummer.
If you can't play a baseball game over Remote Play, WTF good is it?

Holy shit I just pulled diamond Chris Sale from the end of a random game...

HOLY BALLS! That's a nice pull.
Now the BIG question is, keep it or sell it? 62,000 Stubs!

I still haven't pulled anything of note. Not even 1 gold player.

Opening week with MVP and bonus Amazon codes, I had a bunch of golds pulled. My son pulled a diamond in fact. But then they must have changed the ratios and now it's PURE CRAP. There's been people on reddit that have purposely purchased 10+ packs and kept track of what they pulled. The numbers are RIDICULOUSLY low.

That being said, don't buy packs. Entirely a waste of stubs except for the "excitement" factor. Think of it like playing Megabucks lottery -- you don't expect to win, but if you do, ohhhhhh baby!

I pay games, flip cards and make my stubs that way.

Still sad to see these dudes with diamond TEAMS. I can't imagine how much they've spent of real money.

Meanwhile, I'm just pouting, waiting for Sony to announce the PS4.5 in a couple of weeks. Want to play some real baseball.

I'm going to sell it and buy McCutchen. The relief pitcher 2012 Sale is just as good but with less stamina.

My best team is a hodgepodge of gold and flashback players I've earned through conquer and command. Flipping cards can be pretty profitable too.

I wouldn't spend real money even if I was a billionaire. It completely removes the fun and satisfaction of earning the player.

for some reason I was bored at work and I gave into temptation and bought a 10 pack of packs for 10k stubs.

Got not a single silver. Got a lot of fodder to feed to my player though... he's ALMOST good enough to make my DD squad now :)
