Well this is sort of bullshit. My son can find an opponent right away, but I can't? Do you need PSN account? I don't have one, but was working all week for me until yesterday :(

You were playing online w/out a PSN account? I don't even know how that would be possible.

I have been all week. I just don't think I could play friends.
That being said, after going through their forums, it seems they are having a HORRIBLE time with their online modes. Tons of people complaining about damned near every aspect of the online experience.

They actually gave everyone a 10 pack of packs and 5K stubs at this point.

Yeah, I got my packs and stubs this past weekend. Once they restarted their server and did whatever maintenance during that time late last week, the online portion has been much much better.

Nah, there's still significant issues -- took me forever to successfully get a DD game in last night. Announcement today os extensive server work coming up.

tdawg, what's your PSN account? I will add ya.

Edit: Oh hell it's right in your signature :)

I haven't played a DD game online, only in Conquest mode. But before they took the server offline last week, I could barely even start the game because even loading the main menus required hitting the server for your daily login reward. And getting into DD menus and altering your squad was unbearably slow. After the server came back online, I haven't really seen any of these issues, though the system could definitely be faster. Here's hoping the next server maintenance brings more online polish.

Their servers are a disaster. If you check their twitter it's nothing but complaints when they go out for long periods of time. It seems kind of douchey to do this so frequently without warning.

Now I remember why I hate road to the show. I hit 3 homers in a game including a 2 run shot and nobody else on the team scores one and we lose by 6. I do everything right and still lose. I'm also still stuck in AA even though I'm batting over 500, 100+ rbi, 40 home runs. Can't get traded either.

The whole online component was screwed out of the gate. It seems that they have it under control now -- I've been playing flawlessly online (except for the assholes that quit in the 7th inning) for the past 2 days.

AA is beyond easy. Just like every other baseball games, to get promoted to AAA and the MLB it's not just about the stats you're putting up but the ratings/overall of your player. You can't just pump every point into "Power versus Righties" and expect to get moved up. You need to invest in everything -- including mundane things like "Bunt" and "Vision"

My only gripe right now is the economy. At this point a gold player is pretty much worth (quite literally) gold, and diamond players are rare, rare find -- yet everyone I play has golds up and down their lineup. They are obviously spending money on packs and that bothers me. I can hang with these dudes online, but I end up losing by a HR or 2 as I just don't have the player depth that they have. I refuse to spend money to win.

Battle Royale is fun but the payoff is not worth it. The most wins I got was 6 to get a silver card. Conquest is stupidly easy so that just leaves RTTS and regular DD along with the challenge of the week. I'm still into it but it might not last as long as I thought.

I've enjoyed BR thus far. 1,500 buy in and you get at least a 1,000 pack out of it. I agreed you're basically losing 500 stubs as you'd have to get SUPER hot to get a card worth 500 stubs, but I enjoy the challenge of it and the short games.

Conquest is just lame. I thought I would love it, but it's just too boring.

DD is a blast. Though I wish you could choose 3/5/7/9 inning games and stamina would adjust accordingly. Sometimes I don't have time for a full 9 inning game and would just like to squeeze in a quick 5 inning game or something (also a reason I love BR)

Conquest is good for grinding stubs when nobody is connecting. Plus, you get a random card after each game so if you can speed through it it's not too bad.

My player is rated higher than most MLB starters in the game so that still doesn't make sense to me. I am beginning to think they made it random or that you have to wait a long time to get called up to increase the longevity of the game. To be frank, it's boring to play road to the show.

You're overall might be higher, but you may be lacking in some key aspect?
I know in MLB2K you had to get to certain attribute goals and get them literally checked off before you got called up. You knew EXACTLY what attributes had to be what before you got the call.

Which I sort of liked as you could keep pumping points into Power or something and just intentionally keep "fielding" low to keep yourself from getting called up. Then when you had pretty much everything else juiced, you could put that last point into "Fielding" and get called up and have a monster player out of the game in the MLB

Maybe they already have a big name player on the major league team at your position? When I switched positions on my player I got called up almost immediately.

I created a starting pitcher in the mold of Arrieta. Nasty sinker, decent slider and 4SFB. Drafted by a team I actually like IRL and begin the year strong in AA (5-1, 7QS, 1.29ERA). Jumped to the 40-man (low 70s overall), make my first MLB start and then traded to the Red Sox the next day. :(

This is an excellent point. My player is a 71 overall 3B and I got drafted by the Orioles and have been in their farm club for a full season now. Behind behind a 90+ Machado I dont think I will be called up to play 3B. However it's spring training right now, and they have been putting me in at 1B for every game, so I'm hoping I get the call up at least..... though I HATE playing 1B :(

I started my 2B in MLB The Show 2015 and got drafted by the Red Sox. Had to come up behind Dustin Pedroia. First I was brought up and played as a DH. My adjusted rating or whatever it's called is 99, so Pedroia was traded or retired a season ago, and I took over 2B full time.

The white sox at outfield? I could see if I was drafted by Anaheim and was competing with Mike Trout but sheesh. The white sox aren't exactly the most stacked outfield out there. Stuck at AA forever.

Played a few games and finally got called up. Took long enough lol. Skipped right past AAA too.

Does this game have all these problems every year?
They put out a new patch the other day and broke online play again :(

Really hate how people are (I assume) buying teams too. I'm a low ranked DD player and I get matched up with other lower ranking dudes. But their teams are STACKED. Guy I played the other day had an entire line up (and bench) of diamond players.

Here I am with a handful of golds, silvers and rated-up bronze players trying to fend off Reggie Jackson, Ernie Banks, Rod Carew, Goldscmhidt, Kershaw etc etc. I can fight for a while, but 1 wrong pitch and it's gone.

It pushes you to pay to win really. No different than how NBA2k series has become

I see they added a few rookies recently. Do the developers draw numbers out of a hat to give out ratings, or are they drunk? Their ratings seem to indicate no knowledge of baseball skill beyond the most obvious, elite players and big names. For some reason, Aaron Blair (73) is above Blake Snell (71), despite Snell's better debut and minor league performances. It makes no sense. Jose Berrios has maybe been better in the minors than Balir as well, yet he's down at 68.
