And for those who are bitching, name another car at this price range with as much style & power.

I predict that instead of the 20 year old idiots buying it for its intro muscle car'ness, 30-40 year olds will be buying it to remember the good old days. Hopefully they beef the engine up because the current stock is lacking across the board.

The GTO is going to kick this thing's ass in sales.

Have you been drinking :)?

They are all getting more power from the v6 to the dohc supercharged cobra and its already making 390hp. How much more do you want?

The v6 base mustang sells for around $16-17k and they sell a lot of them. The GTO is going to sell for what $35-40k and is going to be a niche car.

I'm fine with the cobra. The cobra is a beast, but how many do you see out on the roads? I live on a college campus where rich mommies and daddies typically buy half these kids their cars for life and I've seen only 1 cobra. Why? Because there are better cars you can buy for 30k. Yes, the cobra makes 390hp. The standard v6 only brings 190. The Mustang GT coupe deluxe which has MSRP of 24k makes 260.

Let's take it up a notch to the Mach 1. The 2004 has MSRP of $30k and outputs 305 hp. Ouch, that price rose pretty dramatically. Now we get to the cobra, making 390 hp. Ouch, that price hurts even more @ 35k and it's a 2 seater!

Introducing the GTO, 4 seater with 350 hp, 365 ft-lb for an estimated MSRP of $33k. If you want to buy a crappy 'muscle' car because you're either too poor to get a real performance vehicle or if your mommy and daddy won't lay down the cash you want, by all means get the bare-bones stock mustang. That seems to be the case as it is today anyways.

MSRP for the Mach1 was more like 29K. It's the fastest non supercharged 4.6 to date. Cobra is a 2 seater? Since when? The Cobra has never been a 2 seater, unless IIRC, you count the 2000 Cobra R, which was purely a race model. 35k is expensive? When a Cobra smokes a Corvette (non-Z06) for less money that's not expensive at all.

And what the hell does:

Introducing the GTO, 4 seater with 350 hp, 365 ft-lb for an estimated MSRP of $33k. If you want to buy a crappy 'muscle' car because you're either too poor to get a real performance vehicle or if your mommy and daddy won't lay down the cash you want, by all means get the bare-bones stock mustang.

mean? It competes directly with the Cobra for that price which has more power and a proven aftermarket. All the GTO will be seeing is taillights for about the same price.

Oh yea:

The GTO is going to kick this thing's ass in sales.

contradicts:

If you want to buy a crappy 'muscle' car because you're either too poor to get a real performance vehicle or if your mommy and daddy won't lay down the cash you want, by all means get the bare-bones stock mustang.

The GTO won't even touch the Mustang in sales. It won't even make half of what the Mustang will sell, especially with all the "kiddies" asking their mommy and daddy to buy them a Mustang.

Nice! I can see some more modern looks toward the back; I hope they don't try to stick a new mustang's back on it. The retro look is nice, they should use it throughout.

The open grill gives it the old-school look, but I don't think it goes well with the body style...*Shrugs* Just my opinion, don't bash me. :p

I'll reserve final judgement until I see better pictures, but so far, so good.

Right - Just like the F Bodies (using 2 nameplates no less) did. The mustang has the advantage of name recognition, the GTO is A) in a higher price range (outsell a car that's priced what, 15k less? riiight) and B) The GTO doesn't have the reputation of a Mustang, which has been a great seller over oh..the past 35 years.

Regarding the actual looks, I'm not too sure I'm fond of the lights in the grille. It has kind of a weird shape in the rear but maybe it's just the profile shot that's messing it up
