What happened to Tool? Are they done now?

Perfect Circle's a group headed by ex-Tool frontman Maynard James Keynan.

TOOL has not been forgotten. Maynard James Keenan just took up a lil sidejob. I have tix to see APC on March 23rd here in Chicago. I can't wait!!

Tool's new album will be out on Maynard's birthday (April 17th I believe). If you want any info about it (track listings, etc.) check here or check here. These are both excellent sites for TOOL, about the best there is!

Hope this has been a lil informative!

<< APC did a cover of David Bowies Ashes to Ashes and they covered a tapeworm song, I dont know the title. >>

The title of the song is Vacant, there are mp3's of it out on Napster from the Portland show, the first on this tour.

I saw APC in Dallas on Valentine's Day (February 14) and got to meet Paz, Josh, Troy, and Billy after the show. Josh and troy hung out and talked with us for like 1 1/2 hours, and were extremely cool. Paz's visit was brief but she did sign autographs. I have a ticket stub with the 4 signatures now. I had an amazing night. It was my 4th time seeing APC, as many times as I've seen Tool. =)

April 17 will not come soon enough for me, the new tool album, from early reviews, is said to be "an absolute masterpiece." I knew after 5 years of waiting, the boys would not disappoint us.

Not to get off topic, even though APC had the flu when they performed here, they stuck it out while many lesser bands would have canceled. It was one of their best performances I had seen as well. It's just unfortunate so many people were flashing cameras in Maynard's face, he had to sing with his back turned to the audience because of this.

That was the point.....if you want to compare vocal talent alone, NSync will wipe up any other band. Except 98 Degrees. or Brian Litrel.

<< At least he writes his own lyrics though. >>

Must I point out for the 80,000th time that boybands write the majority of their lyrics?

"majority" is not good enough. in fact, it's sad.

<< Except 98 Degrees. or Brian Litrel. >>

what a broad musical spectrum you have, my lad...

you've never heard a tool/apc song in your life have you?

Would you prefer they didn't write any? Britney doesn't write any. Christina doesn't. LFO didn't. O-Town doesn't. Ricky doesn't. So they are better than most pop groups. And they wrote more, but the label chose to use some from the songwriters, and some from them. Those songwriters do work there ya know, if they have them, they might as well use them.

What are you talkin about, boy? I listent to a very wide range of music. But I still think that 98 Degrees, NSync, and Brian have better voice than everyone else.

Best vocalist is based on abilities, and as far as popular music goes (rock included) there is no comparison to Maynard Keenan. If the backstreet boys, or nsync, or any of those other untrained vocalists tried to carry out a note as long and as clearly as maynard does at times, they would be sadly ashamed in most cases. I've rarely heard anyone with the lungs of Maynard in my life. Truly the most amazing vocalist in popular music.

Billy Corgan, IMO, although you knew I'd say that.

I really like APC, I'd love to see them in concert although I haven't heard much from Tool. I'll have to napsterize some.

untrained vocalist? Right. That's it. I dont know if you watched the making of the superbowl halftime show on MTV, but even Aerosmith had good things to say about their voices. They said that most singers need filters and whatnot to sound good, but NSync is great naturally. And it's true. If you listened to their songs, they do hold notes long....don't make assumptions about types of music you don't listen to.

Haha, I told you that you guys don't listen to anything I say. I have said many atime that I have listened to all this kind of music before. I've DJed a few parties where the majority of the people like that kind of music. I have listened to it before. I don't like it. Not because they are "fake" or "gay" or "manufactured" or "untalented" anything like that, because I just don't care for the music. That's what music is about...listening to it because you like it, not because of the backround of the musicians or anything like that,

exactly, why would we want to take after you?

oh and btw they should write all their songs unless they're doing a cover.

I shall quote myself.

<< And they wrote more, but the label chose to use some from the songwriters, and some from them. Those songwriters do work there ya know, if they have them, they might as well use them. >>

They do write a full CD of songs. But rather than put other people out of a job, the labels use some songs from the songwriters.

Oh, btw, 98 Degrees does write all their own songs.
