I couldn't agree with you more skywhr. Does deeko just have a hard time letting things go or something? I mean, he's fighting a losing battle. Heck, there really isn't a battle to begin with becuase the two can't be compared!

Ugh...anyways, so how long did the concert last for ya? I've heard they go through the whole APC album, and then to a few covers. There have been rumours that Trent Reznor will be with him in Chicago...know anything about this?

They played a bit over an hour like 1 hour 15 minutes or so, most of the album 2 covers and variations on the album songs, longer versions and such.

I havent heard abything about Trent Reznor being with them on tour, I suppose if hes in the area when they roll through he would rpobably show up. That would be awesome if he came out and did a song with them.

I cant wait until the new Tool cd comes out, Skywhr, if you dont have it already, get Salvial. Its a CD & DVD Combo that came out in December, the CD is full of mostly live stuff that they have already sung, but they sound so much better for some reason... Push It is completely redone (and about 15 minutes long! :Q ) and they even cover No Quarter by LedZep. The DVD has only 4 of their videos, but if im not mistaken, thats all of them ;)

oh, and N'Stink is horrible, there is NO WAY to compare the two.

Ever been to a Tool show sky? absolutly entrancing. Maynard's voice is beautiful and hypnotizing and they sound much like their CDs live, its scarry.

Awesome! Sounds like a great concert! Just wish the 23rd would get here quicker!!! Grr!

Oh! I was at http://toolshed.down.net the other day, and they've updated the TOOL FAQ. They have some questions and answers about "Salival" on there now. It's definitely worth checking out if you have the album or at least know what I'm talking about...:)

Hey Intake, there's actually 5 vids on the DVD...:) Like I was saying, if you look at http://toolshed.down.net/0000.html you'll get a few hints on how to find the extra video, and also some interesting information about the cover, and how it got it's name.

sky: the CD hasnt left my car player since i got it... no matter how many times i listen to it, i never get sick of it.

ravah: Oh yah, my bad... the 5th is Hush, and they are all naked with signs over their genitals. hehe, they are funny. its amazing that you can actually see maynard clearly in it. There are suprising very few pictures of him, just standing there... even when i saw him in concert, he was painted completely blue on show, and 1/2 blue and 1/2 black the other.. teehee...

He did the show I say wearing white/off white pants no shirt and then after 2 or 3 songs he was wearing only black speedo's, he also wore a long curly blonde wig until he asked the audience if he looked more like Christina Aguilera of Britany Spears, the crowd cheered more for Christina and then after the next song he took off the wig.

Intake: I know what ya mean! I've been to numerous TOOL shows and he's always doing something out of the ordinary. I also picked up Salival the day it came out and the whole disc is amazing! I couldnt' believe it had No Quarter on there! and the new version of Push is absolutely astonishing! Maynard never ceases to amaze me!

I thought the show was short, and they didnt do an encore. Yet I was beyond impressed with the show and Maynard it was amazing...

its funny how anti-mainstream Tool is, however they still have a very large fanbase, I think i have seen their videos on MTV (crap) once or twice ever. I believe Maynard has a way of hypnotizing people with his voice and lyrics in such a way that after one listen, we are hooked...

I have yet to find another singer with a voice quite like his.

What, you mean that Justin from N'Sync isn't the best vocalist ever? My heart is broken! :p

I'm so jealous. I already told Napalm that he has to take me to a Tool show if they get anywhere close this year. I've never seen them :(

toolgirl, with the release of their new CD, they will most definately be touring all over the place... be sure to catch the show, no matter the cost of tickets. I recommend, if possible, not joining the mob on the floor, perhaps finding a place to sit and watch in awe of the wonder. I will definately see them again.

I know the pieces fit cuz I watched them fall away
mildewed and smoldering. fundamental differing.
pure intention juxtaposed will set two lovers souls in motion
disintegrating as it goes crippling our communication
the light that fueled our fire then has burned a hole between us so
we cannot see to reach an end testing our communication.

I know the pieces fit cuz I watched them tumble down
no fault, none to blame it doesn't mean I donÕt desire to
point the finger, blame the other, watch the temple topple over.
To bring the pieces back together, rediscover communication.

The poetry that comes from the squaring off between,
And the circling is worth it.

toolgirl: Now that's what I like to see!! One of the many dedicated fans getting the sample of the day! Woo!!

Right now I'm listening to Ænema! Ahh, I just can't get enough of this song.

Actually, one thing i still don't understand is why Mtv censored Stinkfist's video...well...not the vid, but the name. I mean, I don't think that it imlied TOO much to gross or disgusting things. I know i've seen worse name's than that. It's little things like that, that I think about, that get on my nerves...grrr...;)

ravah: stinkfist the name is very implicit about the true nature of the song, if its just titled Track #1, people wont realize its about fistfk'n, specially because they wont equate the video and words with it.

lily: allow me to say, that you are quite attractive... that, combined with being a tool fan... will you marry me?? :) j/k.

I guess unless one's listened to TOOL for quite some time, they wouldn't understand the meanings behind. After stepping away for a sec and looking, I guess people would think it was about. I dunno, I never take anything that Maynard says literally, cuz I know it's not supposed to be taken that way.

Oh well... I just thought of another interesting song: "DISGUSTIPATED"!!! Track 69 on Undertow! That's an interesting track, lemme tell ya...

ravah: true enough, however the surface meaning of a song truly are what people hear unless they are devoted fans.

intake: Couldn't have said it better, myself.

/me sings:

Fret for your figure and
Fret for your latte and
Fret for your hairpiece and
Fret for your lawsuit and
Fret for your prozac and
Fret for your Pilate and
Fret for your contract and
Fret for your car.

OOPS! Thanks intake, that would be a bad typo on my part...:)

I've always thought it was Pilate (for anyone who doesnt' know who Pilate is, go pick up a Bible...:))... That just seems like something that Maynard would do...:) He's definitely pulled some stuff from the Bible into his lyrics... Very very interesting...:)

Choices always were a problem for you.
What you need is someone strong to guide you.
Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow,
what you need is someone strong to use you..
like me,
like me.

If you want to get your soul to heaven,
trust in me .
Don't judge or question.
You are broken now ,
but faith can heal you.
Just do everything I tell you to do.
Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow.
Let me lay my holy hand upon you.

My Gods will
becomes me.
When he speaks out,
he speaks through me.
He has needs
like I do.
We both want
to r@*e you.

Jesus Christ, why don't you come save my life.
Open my eyes and blind me with your light
and your lies.
