Not exactly. We still have Ken Buck & Lauren Boebert is our gun totin' freshman Trumpette. We did toss Cory Gardner out on his ass, however.

I was referring specifically to Senators responsible for acquitting Trump during impeachment.

Awe, isn't that cute. Perdue is more concerned about the recording of the call, apparently, not the content of the conversation. God, what a useless political tool.

'Disgusting': Perdue hammers Georgia secretary of state for recording Trump call - POLITICO
I think the real notion is that Trump is so untrustworthy and unscrupulous that people have to record everything he says because

1) he lies about everything
2) he throws anyone and everyone under the bus
3) he repeatedly tries to leverage people to break the law

Has anyone defended this behavior yet? Has any of the both side bitches defended this yet? Have they even commented or is this one of those events where when it's brought up they'll claim ignorance?

This call should be concerning to anyone who gives a damn about our democracy.

This has always been the case when politicians are caught, their allies attack the other parties for helping to expose the behavior and not the original actor for the deplorable action.
Trump asking to investigate fraud based on speculation = legitimate search for answers.

Anyone asking to investigate Trump based on recorded evidence and multiple witnesses = witch hunt.

If you saw the presser, he's literally begging for the dumb cons in his state to still go out and vote, because our system is clean. He realizes that Trump's message is going to get the Dem Senators elected instead of his Pubbies.
Seems like a toss up right now. The money's currently on the Rs, 65% chance of them prevailing. Both races under 2% with the Dems leading, well within the margin of error.

Trump has behaved much as most people outside his cult expected him to.

I thought it would be worse than this. I don't think much of the US political system. You over-venerate those Founding Fathers and the system they created. It's a ramshackle mess. But the judiciary has performed better than I expected, showing more principle and less partisanship than I thought it would. If they hadn't it could have been much worse.
I think the judges hate his guts. They have to consider the law, dig deep, read decisions, statutes. Trump couldn't be bothered. Of course, they resent him.

right, because this is why Anthony Weiner, Rob Blagogivich, Gary Heart, Elliot Spitzer are still doing politics.

Oh, wait.

Oh, the list gets bigger, too.

Raffensperger explains why he released the tape-

Trump just couldn't keep his mouth shut.
yeah but raffensburger's reasoning for releasing the tape is pure garbage on his end: "If Trump had not lied on Twitter about me, I would have assumed it was a private conversation."

President literally committed multiple felonies within one conversation, recorded, unmistakable, and this fucking pus claims that it would have normally been "private, polite conversation."

wtf is wrong with this party? seriously--fuck all of these pieces of shit. Just listen to this insanity. How can this guy spend the last 2 months literally begging Trump sociopaths to stop sending him death threats, and he still continues to pretend that being a loyal republican is in any way a rational decision for a healthy human being at this point?

seriously, what the holy fuck is wrong with these fucking people? You do what is right for a few brief months, against your own insanity, but just continue to cover up crimes that literally threaten yours and your family's lives, ...oh, but we didn't because he "lied about me on twitter."

wtf. this country can't survive the republican death cult. It simply can not.

Trump has completely ignored the pandemic aside from the tweet about the numbers are too high. Can you imagine if this call was with the Commissioner of Public Health begging for her to speed up the vaccinations. You know he says they have hundreds of thousands of doses and she needs to find a way to give him an extra 11,800 vaccinations.

Isn't that a completely ridiculous thought?

Yes.
Because it benefits people. Not him.

The argument goes that the President can only pardon criminal cases. There would be no need of that clause if it was not for the specific purpose of pardoning criminal cases that have to do with an impeachment. In other words it is not fair game to tell all your cronies to crime all the want and you will pardon them as long as they don't testify against you before Congress, or to order them to do a crime and promise them that as long as they don't testify about it before Congress they will get a pardon. That is what that clause is intended to prevent. That would mean that the sanction against pardoning in impeachment cases has to last beyond the impeachment trial itself.
Not True at all. What the clause is for, so someone who is being impeached CANNOT be pardoned to avoid being impeached. If that clause was not in there, the President could pardon any government official that is being impeached, nullifying the impeachment and not allowing any avenue to remove such person from office. It is not related to criminal charges that may or may not come about due to the impeachment. Once pardoned, a person CANNOT refuse to testify, nor can they plead the fifth.

And this assholes response,
"I didn't hear anything in that tape that the president hasn't already said for weeks now since the November election calling for some sort of investigation, some sort of resolution to the improprieties and the irregularities that we now see happened in November here in Georgia," Perdue said. "What he is saying, a lot of people in Georgia and 75 million Americans, I think, align with him right now that something untoward happened here in Georgia, and we have not gotten to the bottom of it."
Of course he just perpetuates the bullshit with "improprieties and the irregularities" when NOT ONE has withstood the scrutiny of ANY judge or court of law, something desperate trump-fucks are pro's at.
