man, if i ever get subpoena'd, i'm just going to ignore it, because apparently they mean jack shit /s
I think that was already established when Trump's appointees were no-shows and the craven Dems in the House did exactly nothing to enforce the subpoenas.

Gawd. There were issues of executive privilege & Constitutional separation of powers, none of which apply to Raffensperger in the slightest.

No there weren't. Congress has the subpoena power and the Dems caved rather than use it.

Please. Congress simply lacks the means to enforce that power against the Executive, a co-equal branch of govt. With Raffensperger, they can refer a complaint to the DoJ who can, in turn, take legal action against Raffensperger for failure to appear. He can't claim to be following Presidential directive.

The branches aren't coequal under the Constitution. Congress was designed to be the dominant branch. Unfortunately, we've become accustomed to craven Congresses who choose not to exercise their Constitutional authorities and duties.

Now that Dems are in charge of the DOJ I doubt Rathlesburger can ignore it.

BTW - I'm also pissed at Dems for not having a spine to enforce Subpoenas during the impeachment hearings. I think the only one who could have was the Sgt at Arms of the House.

I don't understand why they want to subpoena Raffensperger. The pressure from Trump to find more votes, and now to decertify the Georgia vote had nothing to with the 1-06 insurrection.

It was all part of the greater effort to overturn the election. As each option fell away, the only thing left was insurrection. Raffensperger may well shed some light on what else was done, even if he'd rather not.
