... says the fish flopping on the hook of the Democratic party.

BTW, what was the last Presidential slogan that won the election? "Change?" Where's that change again?

How about Obamacare, dumbass?

Oh, that's right: You criticize him out of one side of your mouth for NOT effecting change. And you criticize him out of the other side of your mouth for the horrific changes he forced down your throat.

Yet these "smart" liberals can't seem to do anything but blame Bush, Republicans, the stupid American people.

Perhaps someone could let Obama know that 4 - 2.5 = a metric fuckton of money we don't have. I guess Obama missed math and took a couple AP courses in killing brown people.

Trying to change the subject again, you fvcking retard?

The subject is the ignorance of Herman Cain. The demonstrable, continuing, overwhelming ignorance of Herman Cain.

Why don't you tell us how brilliant you think Cain's 9-9-9 plan is? Why don't you tell us how insightful you found Cain's comments about Obama's approach to Libya? Why don't you explain to us all of the strengths that Cain would bring to bear to the Presidency. And please, PLEASE explain to us why so many amazingly bright Republicans think Cain is the answer to their prayers?

All I asked for is the actual fact from the article, because it's not there. If dealing with facts as opposed to trying to pass off opinion as fact is "butthurt", you guys are really living in some sort of fantasy world.

Sorry for interrupting your cute little tickle pile. You may resume amusing each other in your ignorance.

Here's an "actual fact" from the article that probably eluded your perspicuous gaze:

“Here’s the point that they’re missing,” he continued. “I think before I speak. I know that’s a novel idea. And sometimes I have to stop and gather my thoughts.”

Then he added: “Who knows every detail of every country or every situation on the planet? Nobody!”

So Herman Cain believes that people think he's a moron because he "stopped to gather his thoughts" during the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel interview. In fact, we know he's an ignoramus because AFTER his "thought-gathering" pause, what he came up with was gibberish. In case you forget, here's the blow by blow:

1. After being asked about American intervention in foreign countries, Cain states that "where there's a democratic movement going on, we will support that."

2. The interviewer asks, "So you agreed with President Obama on Libya, or not?"

3. Thought-gathering pause for 12 seconds.

4. Asks for clarification as to whether Obama did indeed support the uprising.

Note: This "leader, not a reader" doesn't know for sure what Obama's position on Libya was? And this failure - according to him and according to YOU - is the intellectual equivalent of "not knowing every detail of every situation on the planet?"

5. States that he disagrees with the way Obama handled the uprising. Then he interrupts himself and says, "No, that's a different one."

Note: He didn't know for sure that Obama had supported the uprising, then he says he disagrees with Obama's approach? And then he realizes that he's veered onto the wrong talking point and disagrees with himself? And YOU think that this is the equivalent of "57 states" by Obama? Really?

6. Thought-gathering pause for 20 seconds.

7. Asks the questioner "What specifically are you asking me what I agree or disagree with Obama?"

Note: Huh??? Asked a totally coherent question about Obama's intervention in Libya in response to his own statement about when he would be willing to intervene in foreign countries, he didn't actually see the connection? He didn't understand what he was being asked??? And you think this is "57 states?"

8. Gets re-explanation from interviewer.

9. Says he would have done a "better job of determining who the opposition was." And says, "I'm sure our intelligence people had some of that information."

Note: How on earth does Cain have any idea of how good a job Obama did in making this kind of determination? How can he possibly know what Obama learned from his "intelligence people." And on what basis can Cain possibly claim that he would have gotten more/better information from these same people? Ah, I see: This is the fruit of a "though-gathering" pause. This is a well-reasoned response. This is genius.

10. Says he would have "gone about assessing the situation differently." And later says "I would have done a better job of assessing the situation relative to the opposition."

11. Another interviewer informs him that "Many Republicans supported/congratulated [Obama] for how he handled that; you would not have been among that group?"

12. Repeats the same line about "doing a better job of assessing the opposition," and this time adds "before everything exploded."

There you have it. Proof positive that Cain is a moron, an ignoramus. But I guess when Cain says "I think before I speak" and "Who knows every detail of every country or every situation on the planet?", five minutes of rambling incoherence is totally acceptable.

So all of the conservative engineering, history, chemistry, biology, and political science majors/grad students/professionals I personally know don't exist. Got'cha.

There are plenty of smart conservatives out there. But as a movement, the right-wing in this country very often explicitly rejects science, knowledge, expertise and academic accomplishment. That doesn't mean conservatives can't be smart (I'm doubt they're any less smart on average than liberals are), but conservatives very often get ahead politically by playing the anti-intellectual card. You rarely see that from liberal politicians.

The assumption that conservatives are dumb is unfair, but that's what happens when the conservative movement generally uses "intellectual" as an insult and embraces politicians who play up the "good old boy" routine.

Excellent points Rainsford, and something I agree with fully, based on my experience with many GOP politicians (mostly state and local).

Personally I think Cain is a wizz bang salesman/huckster, and he was just doubling down on the good old boy routine to try to stop his slide in the polls.

I'm reasonably bright, but I can't imagine ever voting for a President I thought wasn't smarter than me. And I don't think we have had one in my lifetime (I view GWB as far more intelligent than he let on publically).

This thread fucking delivers.

...and Herman Cain is *still* an idiot. Is this a "news flash" to anyone any more?

"We need a leader, not a reader" lololol, that's awesome. I nominate it as his campaign slogan.

Gotta say one thing for Herman Cain, when it comes to helping a woman get a job, he is a decisive man of action in naming his price up front.

We need a exploiter and not a moralist. So all you girls, open your legs and your mouth wide, Herman Cain has the package for you. And if you are less than a millionaire, he will screw you with his tax package too.

Its why I say Nein Nein, Nein, to Herman Cain, the man who never read history books, to find how badly his ideas flopped in the past when previous idiots tried them.

Uhh yeah, what we need is another Bush....

NY Times

What we need is another gullible "leader" willing to take on a project for a new American century....

It seems all you have to do is speak and dress well these days to be President. A nice nest egg of cash with plenty of corporations to fill the coffers doesn't hurt. IMO this guy is a douchbag and shows his ignorance proclaiming leadership over knowledge.

The candidacy of ignorance is bliss.

Protips:

1) 1 word is a misstep

2) A rambling spew of words while apparently having a seizure is not

It would seem as though being in the spotlight can prove difficult for most people, even for our current President:

Healthcare is a pretty significant topic, especially when you're trying to rally support for it.

I don't see a reason for getting excited over incidents like these. But, some people (tools) thrive on making mountains out of molehills.

Cain... Perry... Bachmann.... These losers think the president doesnt need to be smart? Read? Know anything about the world around them?

Why the hell then are they running for the highest office?
The food?
More living space?
The helicopter flights?
The whitehouse swimming pool?

WTF...!!!!!

I wonder what the real agenda is regarding the funding of Cain's presence among the obvious potential GOP hopefuls.
They must have known all the details of his limitations and negatives so what could be the plan...
IOW, who are they really trying to position?

This video shows two situations that are totally different from Cain's brain-freeze. The first incident in the Obama video shows a short period of confusion, leading to a self-deprecating comment by Obama. I find it rather interesting that the video cuts off at that point, and we don't see what Obama said immediately afterward. This isn't 5 minutes of confusion. It's 10 seconds. And I'm betting that if the video hadn't been chopped, we'd see a graceful recovery.

The second half of the video shows Obama stopping three times in mid-sentence, apparently in response to things said by people in the crowd who we can't hear; this isn't showing confusion at all; it shows Obama being distracted by the crowd. And again, the video cuts off and doesn't show us what happened next.

In other words, the Obama video is just a hatchet job, edited to make Obama look bad.

Compare this to the Cain fiasco: He went on and on and on. What he said was vacuous. No one was distracting him. There's no editing of this video to make Cain look bad, because Cain really is as bad as he looks. And there's no graceful recovery.

Pretending that Cain's and Obama's lapses in these two videos are equivalent is nonsense.

If you can excuse Herman Cain's brain fart that happened more than once in the interview.

Then you are pretty much ignoring some glaring problems with the guy's level of preparedness for Presidential office. That apparent level of absolute lack of knowledge when it comes to Foreign affairs is inexcusable...

If any member of the Democratic Party gave such an abysmal performance, conservative media outlets would be playing that interview in it's entirety with at least as much glee as any of the liberal media outlets are displaying over Herman Cain's disastrous interview.

Rick Perry must be so happy now.

Its very possible that Obama recovered gracefully, I honestly don't know. The point was in regards to the difficulty in public speaking. Cain's performance will determine his standing, which isn't so hot. If this happens again, he might as well hang it up as that will go beyond just having a bad day......too much reliance on the management background and not enough prep for foreign affairs.

All that being said, though, I feel as though the top two contenders are by far Romney and Gingrich.

Healthcare reform for the first time. Financial reform for first time in a while. DADT removed. Want me to go on?

You lost, time to move on.

The GOP has consistently embraced anti-intellectualism over the past few decades. We should not be surprised at all by Cain or Perry, this is who the GOP wants to run the country.

I always love how they vacillate between 'he's done nothing' and 'OMG HE'S DESTROYING AMERICA' with absolutely no awareness that those two things might be mutually exclusive.

A reference from the Pokeman movie.

This guy's nuts, and gets all his policies from TV, movies, and games, and you think he's be a good leader?
