New to the forums... (NZXT S340, Karken X62, Kraken X31)

Hello all, I'm Chip, and it's been a really long time since I've built myself a computer. I recently put one together and decided to house it in a NZXT S340. I could not be happier with the case. Easy to build in, great looking and massive inside. Anyhow, I've been trying to decide on an AIO...

How to Clean Light Algal Buildup?

So, I either didn't put in enough biocide, or some natural light was hitting a tube somewhere over the course of the last 8 months, but I recently noticed some light green buildup on the inside of my water-cooling hardware. I won't be able to completely tear down the system for at least another...

    Rebuilding Older 12V DDC Pump

Has anyone successfully rebuilt or reconditioned a DDC style pump? I was going to chuck one of the units I had lying around, left over from a highly flawed AIO system. I think it started to get loud until it eventually seized up and I nearly cooked my six core legacy i7 a few years ago. I am...

Use of Copper Pipes in Loop

I think I've seen this done before, but is there any downside to using straight rigid copper runs for a section of a custom water loop? I have some straight pipes and fittings left over from when I replaced the plumbing to the wet bar upstairs and I can just solder up a NPT adapter no problem...

Dell Motherboard CPU Fan Header Question

I upgraded the processor in my work computer at the office but I totally spaced the proprietary CPU_FAN header on the motherboard. I would prefer not to use the stock cooler as it's small, ugly, and probably mostly useless. It also has a rough aluminum base instead of copper and they used cheap...

    Cloudy Coolant

Swiftech's HydrX coolant with distilled water is the only stuff I've ever used in my loops since '08 and I've never really had any issues... except the custom setup that caters to the 4790k is not behaving. I first filled it maybe 10 or 11 months ago but the machine doesn't see too much use. It...
