Actually that does sound horribly wrong, while the GF4mx is alot slower than the GF4Ti cards they certainly shouldn't be slower than a GF2mx (the 440 is running DDR after all). Wait for some more educated input, but I'm thinking reinstall. Good luck.

Another nod for the Gigabyte, as long as you don't want to overclock. I've had the E version for two and a half months without a hitch.

When converting any prices from £ to $ remember that us brits pay an extra 17.5% VAT, so cards in America (and probably everywhere else for that matter) will be a fair bit cheaper

I seem to remember that my old rig pulled in around 2500-3000 marks and that was... 1.4ghz Tbird KT7a 798mb generic ram GF2 MX +the boring bits which you really don't need to know about. Save up for a Ti200 (you can probably expect 6000-7000 marks)

Get one now - stability and speed, speed and stability - I love it! Oh yeah and a blue pcb (what more could you possibly want?)

IMHO I would go for a cheap Kt266a board right now (my gigabyte kt266a has been solid as a very solid thing since I bought it about three months ago. Also, as far as vid cards go I wouldn't bother buying a gts as a temporary vid card, you'd probably be better of going for a cheap ti200 or maybe...

Possibly a PSU prob - often a cause of lockups etc... You should be fine with 300w but more is always nice.
