Well i figure its about time for an upgrade, and its beena ages since i've built a system, last one i built was an athlon xp 1800 proc rig. i'm in need of some serious advice component wise whats good and whats not. most of my main components i'm going to transfer, sound card, graphics card...

I'm sure there are people out there that aren't as careful as myself with their system security, but i'm trying to get some idea for myself, and hopefully these comments here and the poll will help others to make up their minds too.

Hmm, fair enough, but are these security measures really needed ? I mean, i have a firewall and am careful about what i click, download and places i visit when browsing the web. Are these security updates that SP 2 provides really needed for a system with up to date SP1 installation and a decent...

Nice, alsa, i'm from UK, we done get anything for free :( Even if the update is free, you'd get charged for the "labour" to install it. But thx for the input anyways, might wait a little longer.........

I've heard so many mixed comments, some praising SP2, others slagging it off. As a result i'm a little hesitant to update my system to SP2. So please Answer this Poll and any comments below would be appreciated :)

Well i have spotted a Radeon 9600xt, been told thats a good card, and its about £100, so i figure i'll get that, but i'd like to get a new cpu and motherboard if possible, as i think these are holding me back a little, surely the radeon would be held back by the motherboard at least.

I am running the K7S5A with WinXP, the drivers installed when i used windows update, had no problems, its totally up to you really :)

I think i had some probs with fitting RAM while having my VC installed, not a lot of space, (this seems to be a common problem with motherboard layout nowadays) and i only have a gf2 mx 400, if the ti4600 is substantially bigger, you could have probs when fitting ram, but can just take VC out...
