Help me decide on a 30"+ monitor

Well, I couldn't get MojoSoDope's link to work, so I went with the one in my post. I agree with sao123 - for $699 now that is a steal. The reviews on amazon were also very good. Will let yall know how it works out!

Help me decide on a 30"+ monitor

I need a 30"+ monitor. Looks like they've got em bigger now, like 32". Use is for surfing internet, doing general things, and gaming. Typically NOT competitive FPS games, but don't want something too terrible for fast-paced action just in case I get back into them. Something like this...

    Help--can't run 1920x1200 faster than 60mhz?

Yeah, we are talking 1920x1200. You know, when I play CivIV, it seems fine, no problems. But just on the window desktop, or using business programs (word, excel), it hurts my eyes. It makes sense to me that refresh would be irrelevant on an LCD since the pixels are generally always "on"...

    Help--can't run 1920x1200 faster than 60mhz?

Yea, 21" CRT before this, ran 85hz refresh at a lower rez no problem, no eye straint. I was wondering why LCD monitors, with all their mini-lights, have refresh rates per se. Makes no sense given that its pixel-by-pixel. But it is DEFINATELY hurting my eyes, and I cant set it about 60hz in...

    Help--can't run 1920x1200 faster than 60mhz?

OK, so I just got a new 28" HansG monitor. User manuel is here http://america.hannsg.net/filectrl/HG281_UM_EN.pdf I plug it in, its at 1920x1200 automatically, and it looks great, although I can tell the refresh rate is low because it hurting my eyes. I go to adjust it--right click on...

My 8600 came with wierd graphics ports--what cord?

Haha, thanks guys. Well, except you Jschmuck. :) Its not an LCD TV so I'll go with just a DVI cord. Wait a sec, Agent, it might not have a DVI port? Its a 28" 1900x1200 new LCD monitor---what cable would it use if it doesn't use a DVI cable? I sure hope I don't have incompatable...

My 8600 came with wierd graphics ports--what cord?

My 8600GT I just got doesn't accept the normal VGA cable that I've been seeing and using for years. I have to use an adapter that came with the card to get my VGA cable to plug into it. Question: should I buy a new cable, one that fits the port (it actually came with two seperate ports I...

    Is 2.56ghz good for x2 4200+?

myocardia---I checked out that link, and it looks like a good guide, but all it says about voltage and X2's is not to take it over 1.45volts. What I can't figure out is why it doesn't work (computer fails to boot) when I switch from "default" to 1.3 volts, when 1.3 volts is default...

    Is 2.56ghz good for x2 4200+?

Well, when I change the voltage to anything other than "default", even if its only to the stock 1.3v setting, the computer won't post and I have to reselt the CMOS using jumpers. Anyone know what could be causing this?

    Is 2.56ghz good for x2 4200+?

I meant to say the 4200+ they have for sell for the 939 motherboards---definately a toledo. Found the voltage--1.3/1.35. Gonna try raising it a bit.

    Is 2.56ghz good for x2 4200+?

Stock voltage, whatever that is. I just stuck the chip in and haven't changed it. What is stock voltage, anyways? I want to up it but I can't really tell in the bios what the stock is since it just says auto and doesnt list it. Had to back it down to 2.54ghz, its was giving me problems...

Is that a decent overclock? System starts locking up much over that. Stock is 2.2ghz. Seems kinda weak :( Thanks!
