SMT is only good for server cloud as they offer clients mostly threads ....so they for them more threads more value
for home users and even for severs maybe best optimization would be without it
https://www.guru3d.com/story/intel-18a-process-performance-up-to-faster-more-energy-efficient-than-intel-3/
Can they pull out so huge efficiency vs intel 3, it would be huge for MT performance, sure if E cores are dropped to ~0.8v
We see with clock fight, Nvidia today is way more efficient if you take out cut down 9070, if they pump clock more they efficiency vs NV will drop even more down and then ppl will start to see it more and more same as all AMD GPU use more TDP then declared compared to NV and that is fact for...
If the cuda perf per watt can not be now optimized without new process, then what to do, remove AI to gain 10% -20% (even then power use could be more as in games AI is idle) more would that sort anything....... if intel or AMD would see it as big chance they would take it
But no lets hate AI...
As someone who need more core also ppl that have AMD, I am quite eager to learn perf/watt of the new CPU, I am ready to sell all ZEN 4/5 CPU and move on to intel in like a 10y if its better in that regard by 20%+ (preferable perf.watt at least 25% better then zen in multicore in limited TDP...
I have no idea where you seen AMD better then NV at all, they are for all late 2y and even then they are not even on par... for most tech they wait for NV then they make their clone tech version mostly not better then worst
RDNA4 improved 1.35x is just not fact, you can make RTX 4090 work at 250W and say its 1.5x improvement also, same as 9070 at ~220w but then you have 9070 xt at 300+ w
I still stand what I said it range will be 5% more so in intensive memory use even more in ray trace but we know already know that
AMD if it was same or 1% faster would already brag hard, more so NV chip had better power/perf rate also
