More on 9278.com
9278.com (and most others) operate same way ethnic travel agents work. They do block booking of minutes in advance from Worldcom/Qwest and others. This way they get lowest rate and they pass it to customers with little margin but lot of volume.
My experience:
-I bought card...
Calling cards- I have tried 9278.com-they use Worldcom/Qwest so quality was excellent-in fact best so far.
Cities are cheaper but rest of India still at 32 cents is not bad.
It was 1+3 minutes (rounding at 1 min., each call must be at least 3 mins. or something like that).
lanb- Answer is yes but...VSNL/TRAI still say that ISP 'may' need a licence for VOIP-perhaps after paying hefty fees.
So babushahi survives.
BTW VSNL monopoly on International calls is definitely ending on April 1st.
Update:
1. net2phone usb handset comes with $10 card-but calls to India are costly at approx. 50 cents.
2. I tried this phone this morning works good-bit echo though-sometime u have to wait until other person finish-even though I have duplex USB handset.
Lets wait what April brings for...

This is PC 2 Phone.
From April 1st this can come down to 2-3 cents as they open up Internet Telephony.

2. Selected cities for now. Will drastcally change after April...

2. The fare you...

Do u have to buy $300 worth to get deal?
Alternatively any Indian VCD seller on line (in US/Canada)?
Which service is best for online Indian DVD rentals?
Thanks for behaving!
For Renting (Indian movies of course) who is the best/least expensive? No rental place near by for me.
I tried someone in CA but always popular DVDs were out. Same for Netflix-as people start sharing one account and return DVDs after long time.
Wish broadband delivery would be in place. I...
One more thing, its a misconception to think that Priority Mail will be faster than First class mail.
Its workt only if you go over 2 lbs. So not worth for letters etc.
I have seen people stuffing 2-3 page letter in priority mail thinking it would go faster-it would not! You end up paying...
Now you can print Expressmail lables too.
Priority mail free confirmation still gets "what is this?" and "You have to pay for this!" some times.
Wish we could print other stuff too-like Return Receipt and Certified mail etc. online. But....
Any one knows free/cheap label printer which can...
Important Info!
Just called 1-888-458-4239-the phone number on form. Talked to Dianne.
Not much help but got following from her:
As per her, they never check who did you buy it from.
All they check is dates and model number!
