    I didnt like my mx1000, i lifted the mouse to frequently and the laser always went to sleep. Sold it to someone who uses a realy high sensitivity and doesnt move the mouse off the table at all, hes extremely happy. Waiting on my mx518 atm... R.I.P ms intellimouse explorer 3.0 :)

    I ended up unscrewing and removing the cover on my fan/heatsink which helped prolong its life a little bit, but when it seized completely i removed the fan (along with the cover) and mounted a 40mm fan on top (so dodgy) which kept it cool enough for a while (noisey!!), now I have a zalman nb47j...

    I too have had a couple of bad experiences with ASRock using two identical model boards G400PRO (very early ASRock mind you) but while doing a budget system upgrade for a customer, I used a newer ASRock board (P4/via chipset) it was rock solid. I think your bad luck may have come hand in hand...
