I was gonna waste money on an aftermarket cooler but now seeing how well the stock AMD is Ill save my money.

Funny, I just ordered an X2 3800+ from Monarch about a week and a half ago (Manchester core), and it came with a regular old heatsink, not the one ReMeDy linked to. *shrug*, I replaced it with an XP-90 anyway.

I know my Venice 3000+ and 3500+ both came with the *old* and smaller HSF.
The FX-55 and 4400+ came with the HSF in this picture:

the 3800x2 i got came with the same one my 3700 sandy did and it was a regualr "old" type. not the one pictured by toattett.

my x2 3800+ came with standard hsf also (not pictured above) but I already had a thermaltake big typhoon cooler, so I used that works great!

The 3800+ X2's never were bundled with the AVC heatpipe sink. I guess according to AMD"s thermal criteria, the 3800+ X2 doesn't dissipate as much as the 4200+X2 or FX-57 to bundle it.

It would be interesting to find out which procs are bundled with the Avc heatpipe as pictured.

LOL! According to that, the AMD stock HSF cools better than the Zalmans!
