I had NT boxes on my work network that were up for over two years. People put it down these days, but NT was incredibly stable when you gave it hardware it liked. It helped that we weren't constantly installing security updates and patches like we do with XP now.

Agreed. I have an American Strat and the Mexi I had a few years ago was just as good. I bet if you pulled five Mexi's off the wall at any given music store, at least one would be a truly great guitar.
What is it about extremely technically skilled musicians that makes them incapable of writing a decent three-minute rock song? It's a crime that so much work went into such embarrassing material. It's like hand-carving carving an exquisitely detailed sculpture of a Kia Sedona in Italian marble.
