Flaw in your calculations. You can't take the full 25.00 off and apply it to the Cendyne alone. Since you used another item to "fill up" to 100 to use the 20 or 25 off 100 coupon then you have to allocate a portion to the "fill up" item. Consequently you can't apply the full 20.00...
Did this PM at Staples just a few weeks ago. Will actually pay me for buying them.
Not a bad deal if I didn't already have a 1000 CDs.
Will pass on this.
Hey Bubbygump:
Same thing with me on my Cendyne. Bought last week in May and just checked on Friday. They claimed that they never got it and asked me to resubmit.
I sent a cover letter with my resubmission. Bet it still gets rejected and I will have to call again.
Do we detect a pattern...
Did very good over this past week with deals at Staples.
Afer rebates, coupons and the promised 10% back in August on July purchases I will end up with the following
2 DVD drives
1 Compaq 17" monitor
1 350 VA UPS
1 Netgear 314 WAP with switch
1 Wireless USB
Total of the above will be about...
You can also try going outside. You should be able to get several years out of the cable before having to replace it. For aesthetic purposes I would do the interior "dragging". Sometimes you may have to cut a small hole at the floor of the wall to assist in fishing the cable. You can then patch...
Have seen them on clearance at Staples for as low as 15.00 for a four port Hub.
Yes you are being too cheap.
Byte the bullet and go get a switch and be finished with it. Don't ask the software to do a job that hardware
can do very efficiently.
Read your router documentation. You need to set it as a DHCP server and then in the networking section for each computer tell it to obtain an IP address from a DCHP server.
Make sure that you use a "private" IP address. The router probably came devaulted with a 192.168.x.x IP address and this is...
Technically the never share the bandwidth in the sense that both computers use the bandwidth at the same time.
The will always send their packets separately over the network although they may be intermingled.
Your sharing is more in the form of both computers using the same Internet connection.
Are your machines set up for Static IP or DHCP?
Both shoudl be set up the same. Since you seem to be new to this game and are connecting through XP then I assume that you are getting your IP address from the router and it is set up as a DHCP server. Make sure that your non XP machine is also set...
Make sure that you are using a "true" crossover cable.
You will probably want to connect both to a high speed Internet connection some day so why not
invest in a cheap hub/switch today and use straight through cables from each computer to the hub/switch. Later when you get high speed you will...
Look into a Linux box as a router for this many users.
Look for Linux Router Project (LRP).
There are a few dedicated router distros out there.
Failing that just use a Linksys router. You can cascade your 2 * 24 switches to another switch and this in turn to the router. It will work but you...
Look under 3Com's site for a tutorial on IP.
It is the finest tutorial that I have ever seen on the subject. Mind you if you are looking for a quick read then don't read it. It took a little while for it to sink in but boy what a beautiful treatment the author did on the subject.
Highly...
You could save a few bucks with a hub and in a small network it wouldn't be noticed.
Ask yourself if saving 20.00 is worth the small access time difference you will see?
