See if theres an option to enable virtual surround as the programs u mentioned are most probably only sending stereo sound. For example in my Audigy panel i can enable CMSS 3D for upmixing stereo to surround.

Few things u can try 1, Try playing a audio cd or dvd and see if it works properly (i.e. fast forwarding skipping e.t.c) 2, Go to device manager and see if it reports any problems 3, Open up pc and pust the IDE cables in to the drives just to make sure.

I have tried a MX500, but i use a MX700 for gaming as for the extra weight i think it makes the mouse handling even more precise (for those millimeter movements needed for that perfect headshot).

I have linksys too and use Mx700 mouse, but the logitech mouse software recogonises my mouse as a normal 2 button mouse with a wheel when using linksys. So i use 1monitor, 1 keyboard but 2 mouses cos i need the extra buttons in MX700 for my games
