1) if you have problem with maxell dvd-r, then it's your burner's problem.
2) maxell makes its own dvd-r (+r is ritek).
3) yeah except you might loss your data later with the crappy media.
In my case I need to use the Cablevision-supplied HDTV receiver. Does that mean even with this card I'm *not* going to be able to record the TS stream digitally? In other word, it can only record the bastardized analog HDTV signal that comes off the receiver?
I had one with firmware 1.0g and the disc was unreadable in the middle, then I upgraded to 2.0f and my LiteOn 165H had problem reading the whole thing, but then the 165H had problem reading the Princo while my LF 4320B reads just everything fine.

that's stupid. he can do only one rebate per address and god knows when will he get the rebate. by the time he gets the $$$ those card are dirt cheap already.
