Hey all, got this from techbargains
499
-10percent instant
-45 off 350 cupon
-45 off 350 cupon
---------------------
359.10
Its home and home office, so no tax in most states, and free shipping! Wow great deal in my opinion
2 Cupons are stackable
Only thing is there is a 3+week backorder so expect a wait, but worth the wait in my opinion at this price

Edit: oh yea one more thing, act fast, one cupon expires today at 11, the other may 1st. OH yea, anyone hear anything about newer ipod model coming out?

The new ipods aren't going to drop the price on this one. The 20 gig "new" ipod is about $140 more than this. Very hot deal. Hardly worth the extra cost.

I'm kind of surprised to see this, since Dell severed its reseller agreement with Apple.

Hrmm just looked on the apple website, they have the new ipods already. Dam they play solitare! MAN! The dell deal dosent look as how anymore. Newer Ipods are priced @ 299-10Gb model, 399 15Gb model, and 499 for 30Gb model. Hrmm with a 3+ week wait, is apple still gonna be producing the old models? I clicked on buy now from apple, with an estimated ship date of may 2nd. Hrmmmm decisions decisions.

I just called Dell, they say that they will ship the old ones right away. In order to get the new ones, you will have to wait 3 weeks. I asked how I can order the new ones today - she said I can not. Dang

dell and most other resellers re-signed with Apple last week. I talked to a Dell rep and he said they do not have any of these in stock and Apple is unable to fill their orders. As of this afternoon he said they were at -74 qty. Yet for some reason it's showing up on the website. He said ppl ordering it were "wasting their time." But is it possible that Dell would switch the order for one of the new 30GB models when they don't have it in stock?

older models are being sold for "cheap" at places like Compusa & Apple stores since the new units are coming out this week... local Compusa has new in box 10gb Ipod for $250 according to a coworker who was going there tonight after work to buy one... i think since the only real differences are cosmetic, an older model is the better deal for less money... plus the new 10gb unit does not have cradle, carrying case, etc which the old one includes.

Differences are more than cosmetic. Look at apple.com if you are interested to know them. (Include backlit LCD, all-touch interface, ability to make playlists on-the-fly, and USB 2.0 interface for Windows.) The old 10 GB unit does not have a cradle -- none of the old units had the dock that is available on the new ones. I am going to be buying a 15GB or 30GB iPod when a local store starts selling them.

I agree with R08 completely. The new Ipods are very slick. In anticipation, I sold my 20Gig Ipod yesterday. I never needed all that damn space anyway. I'll order the 15GB new version from apple with the educational discount and I will actually get the 15Gb Ipod for the same price I sold my 4 month old 20Gigger.. ahh I love it...

um... is the Apple.com store on the honor system for the education link if you actually attend a school, or do you have to provide proof?

I am not sure whether the new model of ipod shipped both mac and pc same time tho. Do they list there is pc model shipping at the same time? I thought they ship the mac version first and pc version later

How can you apply the educational discount, and how much is the discount?

you have to be a faculty or a student, so it is not something that you can apply

old ipods are ALREADY marked down via retail Apple stores... 20GB to $349 and 10GB to $249. (another $30 for educational pricing)... so this deal really isn't a deal... unless they pricematch and still honor coupons.
