You shouldn't have to use the VCR to change channels. The cable signal goes through the VCR and into the TV without having to turn on the VCR. As for controlling the volume of your stereo speakers, you're stuck with using its remote regardless if you're buying this receiver or not.

hehe, I agree that the sniper missions are horrible. The first sniper experience I couldn't even find the guy. I had to use grenades to lure him out of hiding. The main sniper mission was horrible. I spent so long on that one. I used the compass on the top left to figure out where the shots are...

mcpax, if you think getting up the beach is hard, after you've got off the beach it's gonna be even harder. There are a couple of missions I thought was really impossible getting past until after numerous number of tries. Don't wanna spoil the gameplay for ya so you'll have to find it out...
