I had a problem very similar to this once where the computer would sit forever trying to detect the drives at POST. I sound crazy, but how I got around it was to press the eject button on the CD Drive. After the tray opened the computer would detect the drives and boot. Crazy.

Make sure that your clients are pointing to the correct DNS server if they are static.

Get one of these and plug in into your router then plug your new computer into it. Cheap, easy, and works real good.

Do you have a WINS server running on your new DC? Is DNS configured correctly?
