imported_Cota, what sort of games do you mean? For example, Quake 3 Arena and Unreal Tournament will run just fine in Windows 7.
Can't say they look less 3D than in windows XP.
And 7 Home will be just fine.
A simple Intel Core i3 computer will do it. i3 will do fine with HD video playback and for DVD ripping you just need a DVD device, doesn't matter much how fast is your computer.
Well, if you're later on decoding the DVD format to a DIVX or something like that, you're gonna need a better...
the processor is definitely a bottleneck, or right on the "edge". I've seen 1.2GHz dualcore run very slow with 7. It can depend on the harddrive as well, if it's 5400 or even 4200 rpm, then i would not recommend Win 7.
See Task Manager, how many processes you see after restart and how much memory is used?
Everything else looks to be alright, your computer specs look very good, except the harddrive.
Get SSD as soon as possible :)
Can't see much sense in that, Firefox tends to use more memory than Chrome anyway.
Reinstalling Chrome won't do any good, it has clever automated updating built in it, so it is most likely the latest, and the 11 instances of it are i bet, intentional...
1. use ATF Cleaner to clean all the temp folders.
2. use Hijackthis to see and clear unnecessary startup programs and services.
What kind of processor, ram & harddisk you have?
