Laptop SSD in Desktop

The 2.5 form factor that is common to SSD's means they will work equally well in a laptop or a desktop. The SATA connector on 2.5 drives and 3.5 drives is the same, so you won't have to worry about finding the right cables. If you have a SATA data cable and a SATA power cable, you are good to go.

Thanks a lot for ya help, was looking for that piece lol. Gonna order it right now and hope for the best. $280 seems like a great price for a 256 ssd

I have that setup and it works fine in my desktop. I think I paid about that for an IBM 80gb SSD a few years ago, that looks like a great price.

just some info (incase someone searches and finds this thread), there exists a micro SATA connector, but most commonly found in 1.8" HDDs/SSDs

Samsung 470 is not a "laptop hard drive". It is just a hard drive. The guy who wrote "laptop hard drive" in the description probably had it installed in a laptop.
