ZipZoomFly Motherboard
I know this is a bit off topic but didn't see where else to list this.
I just ordered some parts to build a new computer and some were from ZZF including a DFI LanParty
motherboard. The motherboard box was not sealed but maybe DFI doesn't seal them, I don't know. I can't remember tearing the seal on the MB bag, but maybe I did as there is a torn seal on the bag now. I never really thought anything was wrong until I noticed one of the jumpers was not set at default and I thought that maybe it was done at the factory by accident. It was the default that changes the VDimm voltage to the higher voltage settings.
I started to install the MB and pushed out the I/O header panel so that I could install the DFI panel. The panel in the box was completely wrong for the MB and it was bent with some scratches on it. I can't believe the factory would send out a panel like this by mistake. My only explanation would be that ZZZ sent me a motherboard that someone else had returned. It was not sold to me as an open box, but as new. I can't start a build with the wrong I/O panel as I would have to take everything back apart and redo it if I were to order a new panel from the factory.
I called and talked to tech support and told them what happened and they said I could send it back for a 15% restocking charge. I told them I had ordered other parts NDA to arrive so I could start my build today. I also told them I would eat the 15% and RMA it back to them and that I would never do business with them again. I guess I should stick to more reputable suppliers like NewEgg, but I had never had trouble with ZZF before. Now I'm going to have to NDA a MB from someone else.
Anyone else had problems from ZZF?
