from Compusa in Nashua Nh and they have about 20 sitting on the shelf for $279.99, So much for the shortage HUH!!!!!

in stock--a whole shelf of 'em, in fact...
...so is there any way I can convert the Web order into a store
order? I can't just waltz in with a copy of the receipt from

Yah Kwad, I was wondering the same thing. Most places will let you go to the store and pick it up if you order online and they are out of stock...but somehow I doubt they will allow this one. Obviously they chose to stock the stores first and try to get full price for some of these babies.

Got the drive and it screams on NT using my ppro 200.
Thinking of putting linux on the machine, any idea how well this drives works under Linux??????

it wouldnt be the biggest if you include all.. what 15 or 20 threads stemming from the shopss.com computer fiasco. each of those had at least 200-300 in them. that was insane.
Interesting, SF Dude, since my local BB is still selling theirs at $129, and even writing up rainchecks.
COMPUSA just called and said they have my 2 IOMEGA ready to be picked up from their store, casue i had a rain cehck form them for $129.99, yesssssssssssssssss.

BTW, when "their" doors opened, the 13 customers had foam streaming from their nostrils... it was scary. Then one guy said that a guy named Kitros on "some forum" had informed the WORLD and that the deal leeched to every tech bargain forum in the land! I smiled said, "wow... wonder if he worked for Comp..."
