But what max speed will Zen6 support?Ah, no, DDR5 straps are going all the way to 8000.
But memlat is incremental yes.

DDR5-8000 is the max JEDEC strap. But what max speed will Zen6 support?
Yeah, but what will Zen6 support OOB without overclock and stuff.DDR5-8000 is the max JEDEC strap.
what the hell you think "JEDEC strap" means?but what will Zen6 support OOB without overclock and stuff.
memory is reusable.Even 4800 will probably be unaffordable at Z6 launch, but I guess AMD will be fine even if DT sales are slow.
Dunno, one always have to decrypt your mumbo jumbo talk.what the hell you think "JEDEC strap" means?
X3D became really great brand and 8 cores cost is very reasonable, so I reckon a lot of people that choose it did not even need that sort of perf - it is totally necessary for high end GPUs, but if you get 9070XT then it might be wasted money, but it's so good and costs very little extra that people go for it.In general, that's probably a fare statement with respect to 1T. Here's the issue, that's going to be HIGHLY application dependent. There are some apps that will happily live in 48MB of L3 that weren't happy at all in 32MB that will do surprisingly well on Zen6.
And what of situations where 8 cores becomes a limiting factor? Having 12 cores in the same segment will improve things, especially for games that like to do a lot of background shader work.
Maybe you should try learning.Dunno, one always have to decrypt your mumbo jumbo talk.
Gator Range platform docs. From where did you get that Zen6 will support DDR5 at 8000 JEDEC speed with default BIOS settings?
This is freaking stupid. You use the esoteric term and then act like it's common knowledge when someone doesn't get the reference. It's a freaking profile. We all say profile. If you search for JEDEC strap you get a buncho static straps.Maybe you should try learning.
This is theoretically a technical forum, after all.
Gator Range platform docs.
It's not esoteric at all.You use the esoteric term
Pretty sure every memOC autist says 'strap'.We all say profile
Yeah but this audience isn't all memOC ers. If someone asks for clarification, don't give them the runaround. We all have our knowledge base. I really think you're just afraid to explain things because once you get past the buzzwords, things get hard. It's not esoteric at all.
Pretty sure every memOC autist says 'strap'.
In any case, it's a technical forum. Live and learn.
well from that POV DDR5-8000 JEDEC is self-explanatory without any additional words.Yeah but this audience isn't all memOC ers. If someone asks for clarification, don't give them the runaround.
Yeah and we use the term strap for data binding memory locations in programming. If I used it in a mixed audience and someone didn't understand it. I wouldn't shame them. I'd explain that they are initialization constraints to ensure proper startup. I probably wouldn't use it anyways. I would just say configuration.Dude, we've been using the term "straps" in the memory over clocking world for over a decade. Yes, it's been more commonly used to refer to GPU vram, but the usage isn't some esoteric grab from the ether.
I'm still on Zen 3. Unless my DT stops working, I will not upgrade to Zen 6 because I believe that the socket will be end of life after Zen 6. Will wait until the next gen socket comes out with Zen 7 so I can upgrade at a later date without a mb swap.I would expect more folks upgrading from <= Zen 4, than from Zen 5.
rumour is that AM5 socket will continue until zen 7I'm still on Zen 3. Unless my DT stops working, I will not upgrade to Zen 6 because I believe that the socket will be end of life after Zen 6. I do wonder though, how many DIY builders are still out there. I do it because I have been able to reliably build a DT computer that lasts 10 years with this approach vs. buying a new laptop every 3-5 years. Still, seems like I am in a tiny sliver of a minority.
Zen7 is AM5.Will wait until the next gen socket comes out with Zen 7 so I can upgrade at a later date without a mb swap.
Florence is also SP7/8.rumour is that AM5 socket will continue until zen 7

Nope.No DDR6 in server space then?
Yeah around there.Until 2030?
MRDIMMs are a bit of a meme, but yes, SP7/8 represent very very healthy membw bumps.MRDIMM with 16 channels should provide some headroom for Zen 6, and AMD will need to do add more caches to keep delivering more performance on the same platform with Zen 7.
Nope.
Yeah around there.

They're just jank.It is a meme now (especially the GNR version), but over the next 4 years, it may pick up some volume.
https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-denies-mi455x-delay-claims-says-shipments-remain-set-for-h2-2026 so who is right?Dylan (or someone on his team) is implying some "N2 challenges" for AMD.
One of many such statements about number of different companies in recent weeks.
